This tutorial intends to help international customers to successfully configurate a Fritz!Box for using it with an o2 (V)DSL connection. Important NOTE! Since the firmware version 7.20 got released you can change the system language of a German Fritz!Box to the following options: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Polish. Unfortunately, changing the system language is only possible after finishing the intitial setup with the setup assistent which is only available in German. The following will explain to you how to do that step by step.First connect the Fritz!Box to the TAE socket using the grey DSL cable. Then power up the Fritz!Box with the included power supply. Now you can connect to the Fritz!Box via LAN cable or WiFi (WPA2 password is located on the bottom of the router). This is done via internet browser by visiting: http://fritz.box. At first you’ll see the start screen of Fritz!. Here you enter the Fritz!Box Kennwort (which you see in the first picture as well
You plan to move to a new appartment and decided to take your connection along with you. Come in and find out how to do it. Here are some information in general. At first we have to talk about the service charge. There are three possibilities to cope with.1. you can extend your contract for another 24 months. In this case, we waive the service charge of EUR 49.99 to EUR 0,00 as a loyalty gift.2. the contract period remains unchanged and you agree to the one-time fee of 49.99 EUR. If you do so you can extend your contract later and negotiate an individual loyalty discount.3. Incidentally for contracts without a term the total amount is only EUR 29.99No product change is required. Except: a previously used bandwidth is not available at the new address. Then we will inform you about it during the order processing. Even if you are a smart person who wants to do several things at once, there are limits. Simultaneous product or option changes are not possible. Therefore please decide in adva
it's been more than a month since I order landline connection. After activation date they did not had my correct address. How irony is this. Now I had to wait another month. I don't know what to do. They have english customer support but inorder to talk to technical support you have to know german. What the point of english customer support ? It's so useless and frustrating. I won't recommend anyone to use their services. Edit by o2_Steffen: Thread moved Mobilfunk → English o2 Community: Broadband / DSL
Hello, a couple of weeks ago i received a call from an 02 representative informing me of the upgrade offer from XL to XXL. It seems as if i’d actually be paying less monthly for faster internet which sounds like a steal.Unfortunately my German isn’t perfect and i didn’t have time at the moment to ask him more in depth questions, however I see online that the Home XXL offer is still there and available at my address so my questions are:I’m currently about 9 months into my 2 year Home XL contract, will that contract be replaced and renewed free of charge or is there a fee?I currently am renting and paying for the Homebox 3 router, will that router be replaced free of charge as well? Basically the deal seems too good to be true, what’s the catch? lol
Good evening,We currently have a HomeSpot Flex contract with O2, and recently tried to cancel it, with the one month delay stipulated in a Flex contract. However, we were told this was not possible, as our contract still has 16 or so months left. As we have a Flex contract, we found this surprising, as did your colleague who we spoke to on the phone. We think the reason for this is that we had a longer contract than was then changed into a Flex contract by the O2 shop we signed the contract in. (For some background, I’ve linked our previous post on this topic below.)We did this based on the options presented to us in the shop, and paid a large fee in order to do so, even though we were not warned about the fee. Now that we are trying to cancel our contract with the one month notice that Flex contracts have, we are being told that this isn’t possible. One of your colleagues on the phone told us that the shop essentially just changed the name of the contract, without changing the conditio
Hi!My o2 internet (in Düsseldorf) doesn’t work kind of often, like 2-3 times a week, like for a 1-2 hour period in a day, usually somewhere around 14-18 o’clock. FritzBox shows WLAN light on, and DSL light blinking. It’s very annoying. What can I do with this?
After moving apartments I was not able to use my DSL services for 6 months (there's no phone outlets in my apartment). This was confirmed by the technician who came to the apartment. After that I called repeatedly (it's impossible to talk to someone who can do something about anything), sent a letter asking to cancel immediately, called a few more times, and even though the contract was finally cancelled, that happened 6 months after, and I got charged for those 6 months. Then, to make matters worse I got charged 50 for "moving fees", even though the service was never moved.(I just noticed this forum is about Mobile. Mods, please either move or delete, and I'll create it on the DSL board) Edit o2_Sven: Moved from English o2 Community: Mobile

Hallo.
Hello, I recently signed-up to O2 for the first time due to moving apartments. However my order has been still stuck in “Order Confirmation” status with no further updates making me concerned something might be up with my order. My past experience was with Vodafone where the whole process was relatively quick. Additional thing I noticed, I have two phone numbers (one non-german one, which I generally prefer to use out of convenience) When I input that one, it automatically added german suffix to the beginning of it making it unusable, and with there being no real way for me to change it now. The apartment already has cable connection setup, so a technician visit shouldn't be necessary, but its still something id like to correct. Sincerely,Martin
Hello,I currently live with my partner, and the DSL contract is only in my name.I may be moving abroad in the future, but would like to keep the O2 internet that we have (as my partner will use it).If I have left Germany, done the abmeldung etc., can I continue to keep the internet? I know it is possible to change contract ownership, but I also read that earlier this year the service was broken (and not sure if it’s fixed yet). Thanks!
Hi,I want to upgrade my DSL contract. I saw it is possible from many discussion in the forum. So I decided to write here to know more. If I feel everything good then I’ll upgrade. Here is the details:I am currently using DSL 24 months contract “O2 my Home M”. I want to upgrade my connection to “O2 my Home L” 24 months contract. I am using router FRITZ!Box 7490 and I am paying monthly for the router. My current contract going to be ended on January 2021. The 100 Mbit connection is available at my address. My questions:Can I keep my router as it'll be mine after January 2021 or do I need a new router for “O2 my Home L” connection? If I upgrade then my land line number will not change, right? Do I need to pay any kind of connection fee or any other one time payment for the upgrade? If I get the upgraded contract from next month (for example), then my contract period will be extended automatically for next 24 months, right? I can see there are 12 months streaming included in the offer curre
Hello,so far I have been using DSL with a possibility to cancel it monthly. Paying 29.9 Eur.I want to switch to anual subscriptions which costs 19.9 Eur same package (50 mb/s).Is it possible to just switch or I need first to cancel the current one and then order the new one?If it has to be cancelled and ordered the new subscription, I can't do it, since I'm sure it will require some weeks of waiting time.Does all packages come with Netflix subscription? Thanks Moved to our english community by o2_Katja
Months ago I had a hot-spot with very bad service they said it was a local issue with the network, I had to cancel my contract. Now I have cable connection in my new residence in Cologne and it does not work either, for both contracts I paid the connection fee which is high, and I pay my monthly fee, I didn't get anyone connecting and the internet connection is very bad test says 9.5 Mps while I pay for 250 Mps. Terrible service. Please cancel the contract and reimburse my money.
Hello, I've recently bought the My Home XL packet from O2, which on my location is only available through Cable internet. I want to buy my own router, and my problem is that I cannot properly setup my internet with O2 Kable internet with my own devices. For that, what specifications does it need to meet? From my understanding it needs to be a DOCSIS 3.0 modem and that 's the only requirement, but I was hoping to get some extra help here. Here is my setup. Will this work with the Cable O2 XL Home tariff? Modem: https://manualzz.com/doc/37196907/datasheet-cisco-epc3928-eurodocsis3.0Router: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/TP-Link-Archer-AX73-HomeShield-Streaming /dp/B08P94H63WAlso, is it possible that this modem would cap the max internet speed, not taking advantage of the powerful router? Thank you and regards, Alexandre
Two weeks ago I changed my tariff and make it O2 Home L. But after this upgrade, my internet connection is so slow and unstable. Download speed is around 10 to 20, ping is 45-50, and upload around 0.3-0.7. Sometimes it’s gone and back. What should I do? Any suggestion? Hello,I have two mobile phone contracts with o2 and recently also a Cable connection, for the cable connection, firstly I didn’t rent the router with the cable contract, but after a few days, I called the customer service and said I want rent the router. However, this month I got the invoice that I'm being charged 49,99 for Anschlusspreis Option AVM FritzBox - 19.05.2022. I have already paid the “one time connection price” for 69,99 euro last month, and the "connection price of the router" doesn't make any sense for me. Then I checked the price from O2 official site and see how much for ordering Cable connection with router, it never mention the connection price of the router even the one time connection price decreased from 69,99 to 34,99 euro. So, I sincerely hope that I will be offered some kind of compensation or explanation.
