DSL Contract Termination and Charges

Hi,

I have de-registered and moved abroad. Before moving to abroad, I have completely terminated my O2 DSL contract and returned the router as well. I have also received the cancellation receipt and confirmation of O2 router return on 12th Jan, 2026. It’s been 2 months and the amount is still being deducted.

Could you please help me in resolving the issue?

welcome to our o2 Community 😀 Thank you for contacting us about canceling your DSL contract.

I have looked into it for you. Apparently, our customer service department hasn't received your cancellation yet. We have only recorded the return of your router.

Please submit your cancellation as soon as possible using our online cancellation form; it's the quickest way. 

Please select “außerordentlich” here for an extraordinary cancellation and provide a brief explanation.

For an extraordinary cancellation, we also need a copy of your deregistration certificate, which you can upload directly there.

Please note that in the case of an extraordinary termination, the notice period is one month. Therefore, unfortunately, you will continue to be charged for your connection until mid-April.

Hi Giulia,

Thank you for your response. Please be informed that I have initially submitted the cancellation using the online cancellation form  you have mentioned on 12th of January, 20026 and received the confirmation receipt of my termination notice through an email. However, Since the amount kept deducting, I have submitted the form again on 13th March and today that is on 14th for which I have also received emails confirming the receipt of termination.

Note - Every time I submitted the cancellation form, I have attached the deregistration form. 

Could you please confirm if anything else is required from my end?

did you receive a confirmation of receipt or a cancellation confirmation in January? 
If it was a cancellation confirmation, we can backdate the contract end date.

unfortunately, I cannot verify that your cancellation notice has been received. It may not have been correctly assigned to your contract.

Please submit it again, including the relevant information (customer number and landline number).

I will then gladly take care of the immediate cancellation.

I have verified the details (like customer number and landline number) provided in the online cancellation form are correct. I have submitted the form again as per your suggestion. Could you please verify and let me know if you can now verify my cancellation notice?

Thank you for getting back to us. Yes, all the necessary documents have now been received on Saturday by our cancellations department. The cancellation will be processed shortly.

I have discounted the monthly connection fees starting March 3, 2026, so you will not receive any further invoices for connection fees.

I will inform you again as soon as the cancellation is confirmed.

Is your bank account in Germany no longer valid? Please note that there was a chargeback with the last payment. Please transfer the outstanding amount to the bank account details provided on your invoice.

I have already credited you with the chargeback fee.

Hello ​@MounikaBoddepalli,

Your contract will now be terminated on April 3, 2026. Until then, the contract will run without the connection fees.

The confirmation of your cancellation has already been sent by mail to your former address. Did you submit a forwarding request with the post office?

Your transfer has not yet been received; I will keep an eye on it and inform you again later.
