O2 home S50 flex internet issue

Hi O2 team, 

I’m facing important internet connection problem with the O2 home S50 flex, my address on the 4G/5G check report that everything is fine on the website, but while using it i can barely make an internet search. I haven’t been able to use the internet provided by the box since the acquisition and wanted to check if there is any solution other than cancelation. I have tried to move it around i the appartment and almost no impact.

Let me know if there is any helpful info i can provide to you.

welcome to our o2 Community 🙂

I could check your area, our net is indeed without restrictions or disturbances.

It might be structural restrictions or a disturbance not yet reported with our technical department, it might be the router. 

To test the latter, you can switch the SIM from the router to your mobile phone to see if there is a change with the reception of 4G/5G.

Also you can report the bad reception with our technical department for your address and the number of your home S50 (you find the number in your monthly bill) via our live check.

Hi Gerrit, 

My area is frankfurt bornheim, fechenheimer strassse. 

It seems to have good connectivity from the different test i saw. 

I will test with the SIM, but i also face issue on my phone with the O2 5G..

I can’t see any issues at the address you mentioned at the moment. Has the signal always been like this, or was it better at one point? 🤔

Has a new building been put up nearby recently, or is there a building site somewhere? All these things can impact connectivity indoors a lot more than you think.

Have you had a chance to test the SIM from the router in your smartphone yet?

Hi Rebecca, 

The signal was slightly better in the past months, even tho there was still big connectivity issues. 
I tested the SIM, nothing change, i also have to mention that i have a O2 phone contract with 5G and i have the same level of 5G coverage meaning that in the building i almost get no connection, max 1 to 2 bar. 

I’m there since 2 year only, there was no proper change in building. There is a construction side not that far, but do not seems to be active.

@Quentin_21 One further possibility is to have your address checked by our technical department for the via our Live Check and the blue button “Störung melden”.
