Hello @aamaa,

welcome to our o2 Community 🙂

I have noticed that you have contacted our customer support in the meantime and they activated the public IPv4 for you already ✅

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best regards

Giulia

Hey, I have been trying to reach somebody over the phone for a week who can help me without any success.
I have a prepaid SIM with 999GB of data on it that I want to use for controlling IoT data. For this I need a public IPV4 address. I did all the settings in the router as shown above, but still no luck - my DynDNS always resolves to a O2 address of CGNAT. How can we fix this? I paid 80 euros for the sim card, and willing to pay 50 more as long as it gets me the IP address.
Last 3 digits of the number are 603

Best regards,

John

You can't get public Ip for prepaid.

Well, that is bad, because then a person in the shop had lied to me, and a person in Support I have managed to reach over the phone must have lied to me too. I expressly asked them for a SIM card that would allow a public IP address and they told me “OK, I have enabled it” over the phone. This is not fair
@o2_Giulia can you please help clarify?

Check it out:

APN netpublic is required for public IP. If host IP is 10.xxx  … no public IP

Yes, I have already changed the APN to ‘netpublic’ and authentication to PAP. Internet works, but the IP and routing rules are from 10.*.*.* space

With prepaid, it already fails when the IP costs are debited, because there is usually no €50 credit on it.

This is one of the reasons why there is no Public IP for prepaid.
As far as I know.

But nothing stops me from adding more funds to my account. Will it work then?

Hello @John Smith,

while that is true, the activation of a public IPv4 Address is a service that is only offered for our postpaid contracts.

Kind regards, Sven

Why did the people at the store mislead us then? I asked specifically about the availability of the public IP address and they sold us the prepaid SIM. I am very disappointed. Is there a way to convert the prepaid to postpaid?

There is no direct conversion from prepaid to postpaid, as the tariffs are also completely different.
Take a close look at the postpaid tariffs (also an IoT tariff) and talk to the shop. Maybe they can work something out.

Hello @John Smith,

I can understand your displeasure. I assume that it was not intentional on the part of the o2 store.
Like Klaus_VoIP, IPv4 is only possible with a postpaid contract. Also, a prepaid SIM card cannot be converted into a postpaid one. You can also look up suitable tariffs online at

https://www.o2online.de/tarife/
If you have any further questions, please contact us.
Best regards
Daniela

@o2_Daniela  OK, now I have a postpaid contract. Could you please enable the contract (I have put the sim card in the router) and a public IP address for it? This sim card does not have a number - should I give you the contract number?

Good morning @John Smith 🙂
Unfortunately, we cannot open your customer account as your Community account is not linked to it. If you register with your o2 contract and join the Community, we can set this up for you.
Best regards, Kathi

Hi @ukguy

sorry for the delay.

According to your wish, I just activated the public IPv4-address for you. You will see the charge of 49,99 € in your next invoice.

Did the letter with the personal identification-code not arrive at your contact-address? Strange, it was sent out on 17th March.

I will order the delivery by letter once more.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hello O2,

Would it be possible to activate the same for me?

Thanks!

Hallo,

Thanks for your reply, but since a long time some one called from O2 Team to activate the Public IP, already it's activated and already the payment done. So please stop the process as the Case already closed.

Thanks in advance for the support

Best Regard

Hello @aamaa,

when your number already has a public IP address, we will not start the process anew 🙂

Best Regards,

Gerrit
