Hi!
And why did you turn on data roaming on your phone? 58,50 euros corresponds to approx. 59 MB of data in Türkiye. It's not much for a smartphone when updating apps or messages.
Data roaming was active by default. But I did not use it at all. Even i did not have time to use data. The sms came right away. This is a real fraud. Mobile operators look for any excuse to send you bills.
O2 could let me know the price beforehand and let me to choose. O2 could send me one message:
“hey dear O2 user, you are in Turkey. Roaming price is ……. . if you are interested to use please send back one message and write YES ROAMING”
There is Always a solution. But O2 solution is money hunger. Do you know how many users fall into this trap every day? Thousands. Thousand * 59 euro : millions.

@rezakhodamehri As long as mobile data is enabled, apps, mails, etc. also update in the background. You do not have to actively surf the web for this, for example.
A very wild idea: before traveling abroad, find out about the possible costs of the mobile phone contract and, if necessary, turn off roaming.

It is not. You have to activate it yourself on your phone. Or turn it off when you don't want to use it.
But I did not use it at all.
But your smartphone.
O2 could let me know the price beforehand e...]
Didn't get a Welcome to Turkey SMS? If not, then complain about your invoice in writing and send your registered letter to customer service in Nuremberg.
e...]and let me to choose.
You can adjust it yourself.
Simply inform beforehand (about the costs, other information about roaming and the alternatives) and deactivate data roaming on your cell phone.
Mobile phone providers are not obliged to actively block roaming outside of Germany. It is up to the customer to make the decision and make the necessary arrangements.

I know how many there are. It's the very ones who don't bother and blame others afterwards.
What you say is just an excuse to explain this wrong behavior of mobile operators. As i said, there would be an easy solution to let users about the roaming price in advance. Its not my responsibility to check the roaming price. Its the responsibilities of O2 to tell me the price in advance.
I also know many more. You just want to discuss with me because of your job and I don't blame you. I want to keep this document in internet for other users. thanks for your time.
Have a good day
Hello @rezakhodamehri,
thank you for your request
And thank you @tearsbeforecrying and @SethVanDoom for your support.
As already described, by activating the mobile data, everything that was paused until then can be updated directly (all messages that you have received until then, photos that were sent to you, etc.).
For a billing complaint, you would have to contact o2 in writing, as already described. The address is:
Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Kundenbetreuung
90345 Nürnberg
Kind regards
Jessica

Especially if you are traveling outside the EU, it is very much your own responsibility to find out about possible costs in advance.

This is a customer forum here, @rezakhodamehri - you can recognize the o2 employees by the @o2_****** in front of the nickname.

Hi @o2_Jessica I have a similar problem as described above but I didn’t turn on roaming (iPhone setting roaming is always off) and I received the same sms twice, once on 28 Mar when I was transitting in Turkey and once for Taiwan (was on flight mode). Mobile data is on but roaming is off, does that mean even if roaming is switched off, I still get charged? And that would be 2 times the amount of €59.50 since I received the sms twice.
Hello @Monamie80, welcome at our community.
We will answer you at your other Thread
Kind regards, Ines.
