Unable to Sign up Contract Due to Non German IBAN

I am trying to sign a 2 year contract with O2. But shopper keeper said that o2 rejected the contract because IBAN is non-German but my IBAN is part of Europe and part of SEPA.

Is German IBAN really a requirement for approval of contracts? I obviously have anmeldung.
