Good afternoon. 
 

I made a contract a few months ago in an o2 shop in Frankfurt. The contract was for 24 months, but before I made the contract, I asked if it was possible to cancel it earlier, as I was going back to Spain after the summer. I was told that there would be no problem, that with the Abmeldung I could go to the shop and they could cancel it for me. The problem is that now that I want to cancel it, I went to the shop and they told me that it was not possible to cancel it there, that I have to send a fax or mail and that I also have to send proof of my residence in Spain, something that I don't see very logical because I’ll be living with my mom again. Anyway, I’ve everything they ask for (including the proof of my residence in Spain) , but I would like to know, is there no way to send the information here and speed up the process for me? 
Also, it’s worth mentioning at no time did they tell me that I had to pay a penalty of 1 to 3 months. I was simply told that it was enough with a proof that I was leaving Germany. (Abmeldung)

fist of all, if you know that you will not stay for 24 Month, why you don’t choose a Flex contract, with 1 month cancel time??

Aside from what schluej has already said and especially already linked here, you can use the online cancellation form also for the termination of your contract.

@schluej That's literally what I told your colleague in the shop. I asked him if there was a shorter contract at the same price. He told me that there wasn't at that time, but that there would be no problem to cancel it if I presented the abmeldung, that's why I accepted the contract. Otherwise, of course, I would not have accepted it knowing my future condition. It seems incredible to me that to make the contract is as simple as going to the shop but to undo it, even if I have everything you ask for, I have to use such a primitive system as a fax, in which it isn't registered if I have really sent it. I have been consulting the forum and many people are still paying the tariff months after wanting to cancel it because you don't receive the faxes and letters.

I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the methods provided. Unfortunately, I can't give you any other option here. schluej has told you the right way. 

In many cases, documents are also missing, which then naturally drags out the process. Need help with the process or have any other questions we can help you with 🙂?
