What tarrif did you have? Unlimited?
I assume o2 has no knowledge you are not living in Germany at the moment if the contract address is still the same, so that is unlikely to be the reason.
@bs0 Yes, I had LTE tarrif unlimited. That makes sense, why would they care if I am living in Germany or not. My address is of course not changed.
The surprising thing is that, they have not mentioned anything in the letter. They said, your contract is cancelled and to get a new one call our helpline. When I called their helpline, they transferred the call to 3 departments and the last department just disconnected the call after wait of 15 mins in total.
Lets hope the social media support helps here.

The contract will have been cancelled because it is not economically viable for o2 anymore. No reason is provided in the letter because it is just a regular termination at the end of the 24 months, which both o2 and the customer are entitled to do without giving reasons.
If you say how much data you need, a moderator can send you an offer to extend your contract with a new tarrif.
@bs0 Hey, Thanks for adding your valuable inputs. The 24 months were already finished last year. This contract was running normally after that.
Also it is not fair just to terminate it without giving any reasons. In the app, I do not see how much data is consumed. It would help to get an idea how much data is used every month to initiate a discussion. But just getting a letter and have just 1 month to find a new provider is a bit annoying.
You don’t have to give reasons if you choose to terminate the contract, so I don’t think you can say this isn’t fair, but I understand why it would look that way and that it is annoying.
I actually though it was possible to see the data consumption in the app, even for unlimited tarrifs, but I may be wrong. Hopefully someone can clarify this and then you can decide whether to take out a new contract or move to a different provider.
@bs0 I can totally relate when you say that the provider is not obliged to give a reason. Thats fair I believe. But whenever I terminate a contract I tell them the reason why I want to move out of the contract. Here I understand your point and from now on I will not say it is not fair. :)
And yeah, you cannot see how much data you are cosuming in the app. :(
Hello @o2_Tobias,
Hope you are doing well. Do you have a chance to look at my query please?
Best, JP
Hello @Jigs
That is unfortunate that we have canceleld your LTE contract.
I have sent you a PN where you can answer me.
Please also write a short message in this threat when you have ansered me via PN.
Regards,
Gerrit
Hello @o2_Gerrit, I just sent you the reply in the private chat.
Hello @Jigs,
Thank you very much
Your contract has indeed been cancelled by us due to reasons not disclosed.
I understand that this doesn't leave you much time to look for a new contract. I did a search for the availability at adress for solutions from our side in case you want to continue with us. Unfortunately it shows a future date, as internet via fiber will be available but likely from June 2024 onwards.
Regards,
Gerrit
Hello @o2_Gerrit,
If it is possible can you extend this contract for next 6 months so that I can move to fiber when you provide this service at my place?
Also why does LTE contracts have address search feature? It should be available anywhere and everywhere you can find good network. I already have a good O2 network at my place so would really appreciate if you can give me the same contract on my wife’s name.
Kind regards,
Jigar
Hello @Jigs
We cannot extend your contract once it has been cancelled by us.
When you called us a couple of days ago, did you call the number from us given in the cancellation letter to you?
The address feature for our homespot tariffs is because of the higher data volume usually needed for internet via LTE used within a house or apartment and not at other places like mobile tariffs.
Regards,
Gerrit
Hello @o2_Gerrit,
Got it. No worries. Actually I cannot wait until June this year to get a contract from unless you can provide me some solution until June. Do you see this possibility? If you tell me that it is not possible then I will consider other providers. If you say it is possible, I would love to continue with O2.
Kind regards,
Jigar
Hello @Jigs,
Your current contract, which has been cancelled by us we cannot extend.
Unfortunately the other option fiber is only available from June 2024 onwards.

Gerrit
