Good afternoon,

I am very sorry for writting in english but I am new to Germany, and not yet confortable enough to have technical discussions in German.

I have signed a contract with o2 for DSL (o2 my Home M - 50 MBit/s Download and 10 MBit/s Upload).

The connection was activated 3 months ago, but I still have no wi-fi connection. My router is a fritzbox 7530.

The reason why I am writting here, is because I have called o2 more than 20 times and have tried all possible tipps received (which are usually two, update the router and check the cables), but to no avail. In the latest calls I was promised that I would receive a call back for booking another technical appointment, but no one called.

What do I have to do to book another appointment?? I have been paying for a product which does not work!

I hope that I can hear back from you through here, since any past attempts on the phone were not possible. If I still cannot book the second appointment, I will certainly cancel the contract and get my money back. In court, if need be, since you are breaching your side of the contract.

Best regards
@zoom_h2 I have tried to use the black plug many times. Not sure what you mean with removing the black plug from the DSL cable - could you clarify, please?

My dsl cable is this one.

Thanks!
Hello @jmbcsr,

please use a "normal" Ethernet LAN cable between either the black or the grey port of the Multimedia wall socket and LAN 1 on your Fritzbox. As far as I know the DSL cable will not work...

Regards,

Lars

Hi @o2_Lars,

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I used the LAN cable provided by fritzbox. The DSL cable reference was a reply to @zoom_h2's proposal.

Best

I´m not shure, that the fritzbox is configured correctly. LAN1 from Fritzbox connected (not the DSL-Input!!!)? After changes in the user interface, you must SAVE (Übernehmen) the new settings.

Please check the configuration once again.

If no success - I give up. To difficult to fix such a issue by a forum.
@jmbcsr Hello sorry today i was teaching. In the Version before the Plug for the telephone line was remove able. In this version it is not possible.

A question do you have a laptop with an Ethernet plug?

If yes, connect the pc to the wall plug! if you laptop will tell you connection detected than you have found the right port!

Than connect the Frizbox to this port BUT with LAN1 Port of the Frizbox.

It look like that you have an IP connection not a "DSL" connection (at your flat).
Moin zusammen,

Dear @zoom_h2, yes that work. I have manage to get ethernet from the grey plug. Will try what you proposed! Many thanks

Update: while it worked as ethernet, if I plug that cable on the LAN 1 port of the router I get the following diagnostic

s
Nice. Start configuration her:

https://assets.avm.de/files/docs/fritzbox/fritzbox-7530/fritzbox-7530_man_en_GB.pdf#page=66

for PPPOE you need Username and Password from YOUR "Mein O2" Page!

@zoom_h2, it works now! Many thanks! While the company that owns the flat told me to get DSL, it turns out that (i) the DSL is not activated in this particular flat (cables missing); and that (ii) there is direct fiber optic connection. Did what you told me, as in using LAN 1, and switched the ISP data deom o2 dsl to o2 ffth. Now it works like a charm.

Many thanks to you all for the help!!
@jmbcsr gg 😉👍🏿
Hello @jmbcsr and thanks fpr the feedback.

That's great news 🙂 I'm glad to see that the connection is up and running. After looking back at this thread I think I maybe should write some kind of manual for setting up connections like this one.

Lars
