I recently moved apartments and had my DSL connection updated.
The technician came today but while our router is up and running we’re not getting any internet connection.
The Power/DSL light is green
The WLAN light is green
Info is red.
I’ve tried different devices and none of them are working.
I tried unplugging and plugging in my router and that didn’t work.
The only instructions I see online is for a hard reset but I’m worried I’m not sure what that means for me to reset the router to factory settings.

Please make sure that you are using the latest internet access data. The Fritzbox will also show you what the problem is in the operating menu.
I’m actually having trouble accessing it BECAUSE of my low internet access. I can’t access it on my laptop at all. I managed to connect via my phone and read a message that states “Internet interrupted for more than an hour”
Should I be getting more information on how to resolve it?
It suggests I goto myfritz faqs but I’m not seeing anything here that can guide me.
If you do not speak German, it is advisable to set the user interface to a language you understand. As you can see from your screenshot, the DSL connection exists and is stable. The user interface of the fritzbox is provided by the Fritzbox itself. Therefore, no Internet access is necessary to access the Fritzbox user interface.
You can read the corresponding system messages in the event display of the Fritzbox.
The language is indeed why I’m struggling. I can translate on my laptop but not on my phone.
and it’s a problem if I can’t access this one my laptop.
I cannot access the UI from my laptop. I am getting DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error.
The language is indeed why I’m struggling.
Then why haven't you set your Fritzbox to English?
The system messages should also be understandable in German. Since you are keeping them to yourself, I can't help you in this matter.
To be able to use the Fritzbox user interface, your device must be connected to the Fritzbox via LAN or WLAN. If you want to use http://fritz.box/, the Fritzbox must also be used as DNS on the device. If this is not the case, you can only call up the Fritzbox menu via the IP address of the Fritzbox
I would if I knew how. Your answer is incredibly unhelpful.
I shared the diagnostic I got and the message points to fritz box faq. Then it says I should login to the UI. Im getting blocked from being able to login or even register. Something about a private or public “something-something”
frankly this is way beyond my level of expertise.
Any chance someone more patient can jump in and help out here. I’m lost.
@o2_Tobias any chance you could guide me?
You need an internet connection for this.
The message about myFritz is irrelevant. As already explained, the event display (German: Ereignisanzeige) would be interesting. I would say, it might be something-something. But clairvoyance is way beyond my level of expertise. But maybe o2_Tobias has the second sight ;-)
@Alex_DragonBerline First Switch to English. After this: I read out of posting that you was always an o2 DSL customer, change the address/Appartement? Correct? If you move: Same town?
Unfortunately I cannot get to the UI (the user interface).
I’m using internet access to work and do everything else but for some reason I’m blocked from accessing myFritz account ♀️
@Alex_DragonBerline You can only reach the http://Fritz.box if you use the normal WiFi from the Fritzbox and not the guest WiFi from the Fritzbox.
I’m told by “Fritz” to access my account I need a:
For IPv4 internet access, the FRITZ!Box must obtain a public IPv4 address from the internet service provider.
For IPv6 internet access, the FRITZ!Box must obtain an IPv6 address from the internet service provider.
how do I get that?
@Alex_DragonBerline You should not use the my Fritz App. Please use a browser and connect to your Fritzbox over http://Fritz.Box
You must connect to the Fritzbox over LAN/Wifi.
Right. Ok…so I can’t access it via wifi because I’m blocked from wifi because of the fritzbox co figuration problem.
All I have is my o2 data on my phone or my vodofone hotspot wifi until I get this resolved.
I’m blocked from accessing it using either of these.
This seems to put me in a catch 22: I can’t access my wifi/LAN until this config is resolved and I can’t access myfritz UI without one.
surely there’s a way to resolve this?
Ok I’ve made it to the next “bonfire” and got in to my fritz account. Made it english and ran diagnostics.
now what? Looks like the connection is still not on.
@Alex_DragonBerline Are you a new customer or you change your apartment? In the Fritzbox must been enter the o2 DSL Username and password. You get this over email, letter post or in your mein o2 service center.
I am an existing customer that changed apartments. A technician came and “set up my DSL”
I’m searching this UI for where I need to update an address or additional information.
@Alex_DragonBerline Here you find online your o2 dsl username and password.
After this enter here the new data in the Fritzbox
Yup that did it - thanks!
Please make sure that you are using the latest internet access data.
This is exactly what was suggested to you in the very first answer. Your reaction: None.
Hi @Alex_DragonBerline , I am very happy that the @blablup and @Joe Doe has helped and you are back online. Many thanks to both for the support . Kind regards, Larissa
