Cabel connexion issue

Hello,

My internet is supposed to be activated today without technician appointment. I read the letter again and it states that as a  test I should plug the box and be able to see O2 website, If I don't I should call support.

I am not able to handle a technical discussion in German so I opened a ticket from the O2 service app first after the full diagnostic (cannot find the ticket reference) and I am also looking for help in English here.

Router:
- Router Fritzbox 6660
- Power/Cable light  blinking constantly
- WLAN light on
- tried to find TV channel from the frtizbox using "DVB-C channel" menu, but didn't find any chanel
- cannot access O2 website
- restarted the router after the router has been unplugged from electricity for at least 10 minutes, but no success either
- rooter factory reset: same result

TV:
- tried to find TV channels by using the TV connected to the TV socket, without success

I guess the wiring is wrong and I need a technician's help.

Also the phone I entered in my profile is a french one but it appears with a +49 at the beginning as I had no other options, so it won't work obviously. I put the correct (french) number in my O2 service ticket, I don't know if it will work for them to call a french number either.

Your help will be appreciated as I really need internet for work!

Hello @MatFR ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

Of course we’d have liked it better if you had come to us under different circumstances. Has anything changed in the meantime? Sometimes things just take a bit longer then they should, or is the general status of the FritzBox still the same? In that case, do you know someone that could translate for you, since you’d most likely need to contact the technical department with such an issue.

The french number that you entered, belongs to your mobile phone contract?

Kind regards, Sven

Hello @o2_Sven  ,

Thank your for your quick answer.

I am afraid the status is still the same, I tried again with same results.

If the technician calls me at a random time it will be difficult for me to find somebody for translation as I don’t have any German speaker at home. But if I get a call appointment at a specific time I could maybe find somebody to translate. Also given all the tests I have done so far, I guess the problem is somewhere between the plug and the network and would require somebody on site, it would be the easy/quick solution.

Right, the phone number I gave is my french mobile contract, as I just made it to Germany and don’t have a German number yet.

Best regards

Hi @MatFR
I have exactly the same problem, since a week ago I am supposed to have internet. It is very difficult to communicate with technical support at this company.
I joined to your message so you can keep me posted of what happen with your problem.
Good luck!

Hi @o2_Sven,

if we go for the call with a technician before having a look onsite, if I can have somebody from O2 English support on the call with the technician, the translation problem is solved.

If technicians can post their questions here in the forum (in German), this is also very easy for me to translate and answer.

Whatsapp messages is another option as I can translate as well.

Trying to avoid German speaking over the phone…

Thank you

Hello @MatFR ,

you can also reach the technical department through the chat, if that would make things easier for you than talking. You can find the chat on our contactpage under LiveChat and then Kundenservice-Chat Else you’d have to basically get someone on the phone that would try to help you in english as getting someone from the English support into the call just isn’t possible.

Kind regards, Sven
