Hello,

we ordered a SIM card (Prepaid program) and arrived some days ago. We tried to activated it using both suggested ways for personal data verification, i.e. via video-chat and via Post. Both ways failed since the identification for the persnal data provided was the Greek ID card (, not the passport!), assuming that it is recognized as an official identification document within Europe. The card was ordered by my girlfriend, who is new to the country and has no passport. How could she verify her personal data?

I am already an O2 client with a contract and after we ordered the new card and realized that we can’t activate it, I found out that I could include her in my contract, is that correct? How could I do that without ordering a new Sim card?

Thanks in advance for your time!

Hi @Algal

welcome to our English Community.

Thanks for your message concerning the identification-procedure for a prepaid-card.

According to my knowledge we accept foreign ID-cards as well as foreign passport-cards. Therefore, please try again to verify your prepaid-card.

Attached you find also a German video how to verify your prepaid-card. Just have a look here: Identity Check Prepaid-Card

I hope you manage to identify yourself. If you continue to have issues with that, please return here to our English Community.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

You can change the date by calling the Aktivierungshotline0800-55 222 66
Please have the information (sim card, your brothers correct data etc.) ready when making your phone call.
I don’t know if they are english speaking but you should try.
Feel free to get in contact with us for an update on this matter or if you need further support.
