Prepaid Datapack — LTE not working

Hi! 
I have 2GB left in my Prepaid Data Pack but I’m getting no LTE (or 5g) service whatsoever, just E. 
This is really frustrating. 
can someone help?

Hello @Ndrcvn and welcome to our o2 community :-)

The amount of data you have or have not left in your tariff does not influence the access to the mobile network. Even without any available volumen you will be able to access 4G or 5G (if available ina area and tariff and using a pohone that supprts this network technologies).

If you are situated in an area where you had 4G previously have a look at our livecheck to see if there are any known issues with the network :-)

Can o2 prepaid customers now use 5G? Since when?

@Ndrcvn : Do you have the opportunity to put your SIM in another cell phone and check it? And another SIM card in your phone? Same issue?

im abroad and I can’t use live check. 
I put another sim in the same phone and it’s working. I’m gonna try to put the SIM card in another phone and see what happens.

 

You are using your phone/your sim card  outside Germany?

In which country are you currently?

nice that you contact us here in our English Community to find out why you cannot use the mobile internet abroad. 

Can you please reply to the question of @tearsbeforecrying? Are you still in Europe?

You received already a text-message (SMS) that your o2 My Prepaid Data Pack XL of 13 GB will soon end. Additionally, you also received a text-message that your pack “o2 My Prepaid L” needs to be prolonged on 16th September. 

Maybe that is the reason why you do not have data-connection. As long as you do not top-up necessary credit for the packs, you cannot use the card abroad.

Hi Tobias,

I’m in Italy. I tried the sim on a different phone and it doesn’t work. 

Yes, my prepaid L expired today, but I still have days (and GB) on My Prepaid Data Pack XL.

I don’t understand why I’m not getting the service I’m paying for. This is incredibly frustrating. 

Are you telling me I’m supposed to load more money into this prepaid card and see if it makes a difference? That sounds ridiculous.

have you tried a manual scan of the available networks?

Have you tried switching between the different providers?
