O2 Homespot is very slow, keeps disconnecting and the offered plan is not right

Where to begin, I bought a O2 homespot at the O2 customer shop in Düren and was said that for existing O2 customer (I have two connections already) there is an offer and you get high speed internet (100 Mbps) for a fair price. It will cost you 25 euros per month (inclusive of the homespot device rent). Now I see my monthly plan states it is 30 euros per month and 50 Mbps speed. I call the customer care and as usual no English support.

Moving on the speed is worse, though I have two towers really close to my address. The only suggestion I get is keep it close to the window. Seriously is that how you solve a technical problem. It takes ages to load a webpage. If I connect two devices I cannot make a video call through whatsapp.

Forget about speed, the device keeps disconnecting every hour. The uptime is disappointing. I have to keep logging in again and again and again. This is frustrating.

There is no one ready to take responsibility. I need help or else I would simply love to return this product and get my money back.

Hi @deedee21

Welcome to our o2 Community.

We will check your monthly charged fee and check if there went something wrong.

Regarding your connection: Could you please make a speed test and upload the results here?

Is there a difference between the 3G/UMTS and the 4 G / LTE network performance?

Best Regards Matze

Currently, the preferred network is LTE only. I am sharing a screenshot of the speed test with only one device connected and as I said earlier, If I connect another device this page will take ages to refresh, and I could literally take a powernap before this opens.

Since I have a limited understanding of your second question about 3G/UMTS and 4G/LTE. I am sharing another screenshot with you of the current network status.

This has been a bad experience. I am an existing O2 customer,  I should have been offered the O2 homespot at a discounted price, which I was not. The deduction was more than discussed.

The plan should have been 100 Mbps which is not.

The speed on a 50 Mbps plan seems like 2G network.

The customer care executive said we could connect 17 devices at the same time, which is not true. I can't even connect 2 handsets.

I hope you can find a quick solution to this or the only thing I can see is returning the homespot and discontinuing my association with O2 .

edit o2_Tobias: I just saw that you have another thread here:

We will then continue our conversation in this thread.

Hi @deedee21

I regret that you were not happy with your homespot.

As I just saw, your homespot-tariff was deactivated on 1st May 2021.

I hope everything is fine now with this solution.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
