So, here's the situation:

I need to retrieve the PUK code to unblock my SIM card.

I'm currently outside Germany, and my first strategy was to retrieve the login information for my O2 account in order to see the PUK directly on the O2 website. The issue is that the email I use as a username is not recognized by the system. This is very strange because it's the email address where I receive my monthly plan receipt!

Now, if I use my user code as a username instead, it gets recognized, but the system wants to send me an SMS for verification, not an email! This leaves me at a dead end since I don't have access to my mobile phone number. As stated, I'm not in Germany currently, so I cannot go to any O2 shop.

What are my options?

Thans in advance for any help

Hello @Andr123 ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

If you don’t have access to your mein o2 at the moment, then the only other option for the PUK would be to directly call the service and ask for it, assuming of course that you know your four digit customer code to identify yourself.

Kind regards, Sven

Hello Sven, thank you for the information!

  1. Is the English-speaking hotline also available outside of Germany?
  2. As for the user code, I only have a 10-digit Kundennummer, which is displayed on the monthly receipt I receive via email. I'm not sure where to retrieve the 4-digit user code you mentioned.  Would the 10-digit Kundennummer be accepted as well?

I apologize for the additional question, but I would like to be sure before making an expensive phone call.

Cheers,

Andr

Good morning @Andr123

Welcome to the o2 Community!

so I don't know the 4 digit customer code either, I only know my 10 digit customer number. But I am of the opinion that the 10 digit customer number would also be sufficient.

I've looked and have on the fast no 4-digit customer code found perhaps @o2_Sven can tell us where we find this?

You can also alternatively express your problem in the live-chat.

Best regards | RhobarDerIII

Hello @Andr123 and @RhobarDerIII ,

the four digit customer code( persönliche Kundenkennzahl) is something that you choose yourself when you made the contract. You should have gotten some documents with it early on as well.

Kind regards, Sven

Hey @o2_Sven,

I already have my contract so long that I no longer know I mean that there was no such thing at the time or am I wrong there? But the customer number is also sufficient for identification or not?

I also have no more emails from back then, because my email provider automatically deletes old emails after 4 years.

Best wishes | RhobarDerIII

Hello @RhobarDerIII ,

some very old contracts also had a password instead, but every contract with us does have the customer code and this is needed for verification, just the customer number from a bill is not enough. If you have access to your mein o2, then you can find the customer code there as well, so you don’t need to dig for old mails. Just that in this specific case Andr123 also lacks the access to his mein o2.

Kind regards, Sven

Hello @o2_Sven,

Thank you I have found them funny white now in myo2. Why I didn't find it yesterday I don't know.

This is of course not so good if he has no access to myo2. I hope you can help him with that.

best regards | RhobarDerIII

So I’m totally locked out. This is going to be painful.

I don’t even understand why the system doesn’t recognize my email address as username when I try to reset the password of myO2.

It’s the same email account where I receive the monthly receipt

Hey @Andr123,

did you try your phone number to reset the password of myo2?

Best regards | RhobarDerIII

Hello @RhobarDerIII ,

The problem with using the phone number is that it would trigger an SMS for resetting instead of an email, which is a dead end for me.

I am attempting to regain access to my O2 account solely for the purpose of retrieving the PUK code to unblock my SIM card associated with the phone number.

Hello @Andr123 ,
oh dear, i can understand you.
Unfortunately we have to get sure, that the right person asks for the puk so we have implented the system with the personal account number.
How long will you be abroad? Have you access to your mails sending by post?

kindly regards
Michael
