Need help with DSL activation, Technician says there is a problem with inhouse wiring

Hello, I have a problem. So I ordered the o2 my home XL dsl and router is fritzbox 7590. But Your technician came and told us that we cant use that dsl because we have old cables in our building. So what can I do, can I change router or something ?

Lösung von Joe Doe

@Mirza Junuzovic So all the fuss was for nothing and in the end it was just a misunderstanding between you and the technician.

You know, that you can switch the Fritzbox to an English menu!? See in my tutorial the last two screenshots.

@Mirza Junuzovic Did he connected you or leave your apartment / house with doing nothing? Provide cables between APL (Telekom) to TAE connector (in your apartment) is located to your landlord. Connecting the cable is Job from the German Telekom technican. Sorry this is little difficult here in Germany.

@Mirza Junuzovic Can you get in contact with your landlord? The missing or faulty cable connection is his problem. And did you have good o2 4G and your address? Post a street name near your real street and the PLZ/town name here. Please don't post any real addresses from you here. It is a public forum. Thanks

@Mirza Junuzovic I think you get problems with speed over 4G because there is a high risk that the router will connect to the Band 20 BTS. (Bandwidth shorter than a BTS with Band 1 or 3)

I prefer DSL or cable as an Internet connection for you.

Hi @Mirza Junuzovic

Welcome to our o2 Community. If have checked the report the technician wrote us.

There he told us that everything is fine with the activation. Did you connect the Fritzbox with the “TAE Dose” the socket on the wall?

If not please connect and setup the router with the info we sent you with the activaion letter, there you find the log in data

(in german DSL Benutzername and Passwort) if that won’t work please tell us if the DSL Power LED on your Fritzbox is on, off, of flashing.

Best Regards Matze
