Cancellation of contract under my friend’s name - New Contract under my name

Hello,

I have an existing O2 contract (O2 Free M Boost) which is under the name of my friend and it will expire on November 07, 2021. I just want to ask if my friend should send a cancellation letter now or should we wait until August (3 months notice) before we send it?

I just want to make sure that it will be terminated on November because I am planning to get a new Phone + O2 Tarif under my name.

A contract can be terminated at any time to the end of the 24 month term, as long as the termination letter reaches o2 at least three months before the end of the current term. Waiting until the last minute is not advisable.
