how long does it take for sim to be active after completing Post Ident

Edit o2_Antje: Moved from Prepaid to English Community / 29.11.2024

how long does it take for sim to be active after completing Post Ident. I did it yesterday after failing to identify over the call, also don’t know why that failed. I want to start the process of moving my current number over but the card is not yet active.

2-3 hours.

So if it’s been more than 24hours what do I do next?

You will receive an email stating that the identification process was not successful. If necessary, order a nu prepaid card.

i have received no emails and now when I try to activate it again it is saying their is an error! I have paid for this sim card and i cant use it!

where exactly did you buy it?

On Mein o2. I’m thinking as I haven’t had any email confirming or notification of failed identity that it hasn’t been done properly at the post office. I might go back and see if they can do it again. If that doesn’t work I will have to go into an o2 shop as I have tried to call every helpline and nothing is working.

If the identity verification was not successful, you will receive an email. Go to the post office again.

Hello @amanda4564417,

welcome to our o2 Community. 😊

It's a shame that it didn't work out right away. You should have already received feedback on the identification. I would also go to the post office again. Is your ID card valid and not expired?

Kind regards, Lea

I handed over my passport and my ID card. Still nothing.

I went back to the post office and tried it again today at 4pm. It’s now 7pm and still nothing. Not really sure what to do now. If I go into a store will someone be able to help me or will they just tell me to call the number that no one speaks English on? I have tried the English hotline but they can only deal with post paid not prepaid. I’m a bit stuck!

Hello @amanda4564417,

could you activate your prepaid card or do you still have to try to have it activated?

Best Regards,

Gerrit
