Hello everyone,

This is my first post, and although the topic has been touched upon, I’d like some current feedback with working links and specific advice regarding my DSL abo.

I’d like to switch to a postpaid plan for my mobile, and also have a DSL connection with O2 so I’m hoping to take advantage of the 50% Rabatt option. I’d also like to keep my number nd my phone and do so with minimal bureaucracy and interruptions. Questions:

  • If I switch to postpaid did I understand correctly that there are no extra fees for calling and receiving calls to and from EU countries?
  • Is there a way to keep my SIM card and my number and have the switch done at O2? I’d like to avoid making a new contract, receiving a new SIM, and then porting my number to the new SIM. If not, what is the procedure in this case?
  • can I add other numbers to this abo at the same reduced rate?
  • in the case of O2 One, the 60 Eur contract, what does it include? Would I be able to have two numbers on that, plus my DSL line? Or the 60Eur is just the basic fee and you add services and fees according to your needs?
  • are any of the O2 Wifi 6 routers O2 offers recommended? we use the 7590 and thinking of upgrading at the end of the current contract. If there are, what is the procedure to replace the routers?

Thank you for looking into this and offering your response.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello @modabo_ ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

I’ll go through your points one by one, if you have any follow up questions, please let us know.

  • If you are in Germany and call for example someone in France than this creates costs for you, the situation in which no extra fees are incurred is if you are roaming within the EU. Again as an example say you are in France and call someone in France, then you’d have no additional fees as these would be billed as if you called someone here in Germany from within Germany.
  • All new contracts get a new SIM card, you can’t keep using your Prepaidcard with the new contract, as such you’d also have to port the number over from the old contract to the new one.
  • With one enabling contract you can get the “Kombivorteil” on up to 4 additional mobile contracts.
  • The 60€ are the base price for the o2 One Unlimited after that you can add additional cards and the DSL depending on your needs. The DSL would be free within this, while addtional cards would come with a monthly fee depending on the kind.
  • If you are currently using a 7590 I personally don’t see a need to change the router as that is still a fantastic model, but if WiFi 6 is very important to you, then o2 offers both the HomeBox 3 as well as the 7590AX that come with it. The router itself is an option within your DSL contract and can be changed at any point.

Kind regards, Sven
