Transfer o2 number

I would like to transfer my o2 number to another company. How is that possible?

Lösung von o2_Jan

Hi @Korinak,

in order to transfer your number to another company, a porting order in our data system is needed.
I have now cleared said order for your phone number, this means that your new provider can now import your phone number to your new contract.

Please make sure that all your customer data at your new provider exactly matches your current data at o2 (even if there has been some updated data like a new address in the meantime) to ensure the transfer will work.

Also, please make sure to keep the phone charged with at least 24.95 EUR, as this is the sum you will be charged for once the transfer has been successful.

Best regards,
Jan.

Thank you so much for the reply @o2_Jan!
I got the text message for the portability.
But I checked my data and unfortunately my are wrong. My last name is wrong and the address is old. How is this possible to change? And also it is a prepaid sim. Not a contract.

Hi @Korinak,

a prepaid sim should work fine, too, it doesn't necessarily need to be a contract.

You can change your personal details in Mein o2 or the Mein o2 app.
Please make sure to update them before you contact your new provider to order the transfer - the personal data in your o2 account must match the account at your new provider exactly for the transfer of your number to work.

Best regards,
Jan.

Thank you again for your help @o2_Jan ! I changed my address but unfortunately I cannot change my name as it seem to be locked. I tried through the app and trough the website and still is locked. How this can be changed?

Hi @Korinak,

a change of your name is the one part that cannot be changed without further proof.
You'll need to send in a copy of your ID (passport or something similar) and ask for the change of your name in your account.
You can send it to the following address:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Kundenbetreuung
90345 Nürnberg

In case the transfer of your number is supposed to happen pretty soon, maybe it would be easier to give your new provider the "wrong" name, wait for the transfer to be successful and then change it to your correct name right at your new provider.

The background for this is that all the data of a customer at both the old and new provider needs to match exactly for the transfer to be successful, even if this means that some data may not be up to date.

Best regards,
Jan.

Thank you @o2_Jan for your answer! Is it possible to send it by email and not by post?

Hi @Korinak,

this is one of those documents that need to be send by post, I'm afraid.
Also o2 does not provide an open email account for customers because some documents can either be uploaded via Mein o2 or the Mein o2 app or they need to be send in by mail anyway.

Best regards,
Jan.

Hay hay @Ykigu,

i set the order to take your number with you to your new provider.

Please note, that you booked on 4th february a new package,. Because of this your credit is not enough to charge the fee for porting your number. To Take your number with you please check your credit and top up the difference.

Best regards,

Larissa

@o2_Jan
I am using O2 Prepaid (Pay As You Go). Do I need to pay 24.95 € for taking my current number to another mobile operator?

Hi @Rez1

welcome to our English Community.

I have good news for you. Meanwhile the price for a transfer of your prepaid-mobile-phone-number to another provider was reduced. At the moment, you just are charged with 6,82 €.

In order for you to transfer your number, you need to release your number for porting. I have just ordered the release of your number and you received a confirmation by SMS. Please contact now you new provider in order to order the porting.

Please make sure that you have a credit of 6,82 € on your old prepaid-card, otherwise the porting will not be done.

If you still have a remaining amount on your card after the porting, just fill out this form: Pay-off remaining amount to your bank-account

We will then transfer your remaining amount to your personal bank-account.

I hope I could answer all your questions. If you still have any further questions, just feel free to contact our English Community.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi @jas7cam

welcome to our English Community. Good to meet you here.

You would like to transfer your mobile phone number from Aldi Talk to o2 Prepaid, right?

The first step is to contact Aldi Talk in order to release your number for porting.

Afterwards, you just order the porting by using this link: ordering the transfer of the mobile phone number from another provider to o2

The porting is free of charge.

I hope I could help you with this information.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi @Asolya

nice that you contact our English Community.

As I see, you have ordered already the release of your o2 prepaid-number. That´s great!

Now, you only need to order the porting of the number to o2 postpaid. Please use the following link for this: ordering the transfer of the mobile phone number from another provider to o2

You will then receive a confirmation of the porting-date by e-mail.

I hope I could help you.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi, I need to port my number over on June 1. I have already given notice to terminate my contract in August. I thought terminating the contract is enough to allow this but the new company just told me their request was turned down. Can you send me to the part of your site where I need to confirm that I need my number ported?

Thanks

Sina

Hello @sinanajafi, welcome at our community.

If your contract ends later, but you want to port your number now, it must be released. You can easily do this online.

Kind regards, Ines.

Hello @Vofka17,

welcome to our o2 Community 🙂

If you have a Postpaid contract, you can release your phone number online via your Mein o2 customer account, if you have a Prepaid number you can also release your number via our app.
