It is only this bad in this region? Is it better if you are in a different place? Just because I am interested.
O2 coverage in land Hesse is poor. I do not know how to live with this internet speed and poor network signal.
Dear @Ina96 ,
welcome to our community.
Have you already taken a look at the Live-Check to see what your current network availability is like? There you can also report a fault yourself if there is not yet one and it should be necessary.
Kind regards,
Andrea
I have the same problem, I looked at the live-check and it says it’s supposed to work well but it doesn’t. It’s incredibly slow even with 5g and my phone is fairly new.
My mobile internet speed was fine for about 8 months, until few days ago the speed suddenly dropped to 200 - 500 kbp/s which is laughable. Is there any singal or connection issue in 86343 region? I’m sorry but i’m not going to keep paying 70 euro for something like this.
Hello and welcome to the community @17624361770 & @DJG.
@DJG can you give me a side street near you in 86343, I'd be happy to take a closer look.
Have you already used the live check and reported the fault with your address?
@17624361770 can you please also tell me a side road near you and please also report the fault directly in Live Check.
Many Thanks and best regards
Steffen
Hello @o2_Steffen , A side road near me in 86343 is Bürgermeister-Wohlfarth-Straße.
Yes I have used Live Check many times already and it says that all should be working fine in this area.
I have reported it to the support, they also checked it and said that they couldn’t see any issues and yet my issue remains. I got the connection alright but the download speed has dropped to around 200 kbps. I have tried many solutions on my phone already. Reseting net settings , turning flight mode on and off, etc. Nothing helps.
Thank you for the short feedback @DJG .
I have just been able to take a closer look at the region (86343 Bürgermeister-Wohlfarth-Straße).
At some stations near you, I can definitely see an increased load in terms of LTE data. But when you move away from your location, the speed is much better, isn't it?
Which smartphone do you currently use?
Kind regards
Steffen
No worries, it also sucks in grombuhl würzburg. The whole world has fiber optic and we still run on 50000 wth....disappointed for wasting my money
I want to take o2 to court for taki g money without providing the service
Hello @Jabrumm,
welcome to our o2 Community
Did you already check via our website Verfügbarkeitscheck whether a plan with a stronger connection is available with us at your address?
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hello @Gamali
Welcome to our o2 community
Do you currently face difficulties with your internet and landline connection?
Best Regards,
Gerrit

loading a website for 20 sec in this day of age..and in berlin..
No words... super depressing...
Hello @brko,
if you are having such a bad internet connection, you can try to analysze the issue with the help of your o2 Service App which you can download and which you can also use to report the result to our technicians in order for them to go about finding a solution.
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hello @Jabrumm,
that is unfortunate that there is no faster connection available at your address. At the moment are you having a DSL connection and when having your address checked in our shop there has also been no prospect of fiber being available later this year?
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hi O2 team,
I have been using an O2 my Home S internet service (O2 HomeSpot LTE). In the first year, the internet speed was good, but for almost two months, the internet speed has decreased significantly and is mostly around 1 or 2 Mb/s (I have measured the internet speed using several different software applications).
I have placed the LTE device in various locations around the apartment and in open spaces, but the internet speed remains very low, making it impossible to watch videos or even to utilize browsers. I have to work remotely, and this slow internet speed is disrupting my work. I cannot cancel the contract for two years, and this has created a very difficult situation for me.
I have visited the Live Check vor Ort site many times, and it always shows that the O2 internet speed in my erea is high enough when it is not. I have reported the issue of slow internet speed many times, but nothing has changed. I am very disappointed with this situation.
Best
Hello @Acustomer,
I am sorry to hear that the speeds have slowed down recently. Great that you have already tried different placements of the router and reported the limitations.
Would you like to name a side street for us? Please don't post your exact address here.
Then we'll be happy to take a look for you :)
Best regards
Cora
Hi @o2_Cora ,
Thank you for the response.
The router is in "Am Weidenring, Bad Homburg".
Hello @Acustomer,
I have checked the situation at your address.
There is currently an issue at a transmission tower a little further away, which is also affecting the surrounding cell towers with temporary overloads. Our technicians have already been informed and are working on restoring full network functionality.
We have to ask for a little patience here, as this is a complex error pattern. At the moment we are unfortunately unable to give you a date when the problem will be fixed.
Unfortunately, there can be restrictions in mobile communications from time to time. Have you ever thought about switching to a different technology? Our service provider Telekom will be rolling out fiber optics in your area in the coming weeks, so we will soon be able to offer fiber optic connections there too. Perhaps this is a more reliable alternative for you?
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Best regards
Giulia
Hi again @o2_Cora ,
Thank you for your response and the proposed solution.
I would prefer to use a fiber optic internet connection rather than the SIM-based one. However, I currently have an O2 HomeSpot LTE contract that cannot be canceled until next year.
Could you please let me know if it is possible to transfer my current O2 HomeSpot LTE contract to a Telekom fiber optic internet contract? If so, how can I proceed with this transfer?
Best regards,
Acustomer
Hello @Acustomer,
we can send you an offer for a change to a fiber optic connection by email, you can then check it and if everything is OK, order directly via a link. The change is also possible before the end of the original contract period. Please note that your contract will then be extended by 24 months from the change date.
Has there already been an installation of fiber optic connections by Deutsche Telekom in your house/appartement?
You will also need a different router for the landline connection. We will be happy to make you an offer with a rental device (Fritzbox 5530), but alternatively you can also use your own fiber optic router.
Best regards
Giulia
Hello @Acustomer,
I would like to offer you a technology change with a 24 month contract extension.
I need to ask you a few questions first:
Which tariff would you like to choose?
- o2 Home XXL 1000 MBit for €69.99
- o2 Home XL 500 MBit for €59.99
- o2 Home L 250 MBit for €44.99
- o2 Home M 100 MBit for €39.99
Do you already have a fibre optic connection at home? If so, what is your fibre ID?
Do you want to rent a router?
- Optical Fibre Modem ONT one-off €49.99
- AVM FRITZ!BOX 7590 AX for a monthly rent of €6.99
- AVM FRITZ!BOX 7530 AX for €4.99 monthly rental fee
- AVM FRITZ!BOX 5530 Router + ONT for €5.99 monthly fee
Please note that the Fritz!Box 7590 AX and 7530 AX must be connected to a fibre optic modem (ONT).
Kind regards, Maren
Hi o2 team
As I mentioned, I prefer an optic fiber internet connection, but your the options offered by o2_Maren (o2 Home X,L,M ...) are the DSL internet.
I think that the "Fiberglass 150" provided by Telekom (without MagentaTV) may be suitable for my needs. Is there any equivalent tariff in o2 products.
There is currently no optic fiber installation in our apartment.
I look forward to receiving your offer via email.
Best regards
Acustomer
Good morning @Acustomer,
I have of course taken into account your request for a fibre optic connection. These tariffs are available with different technologies and in your case it is fibre optic. I can offer you 100 Mbit or 250 Mbit. What speed do you want?
I would recommend the Fritz!Box 5530 for a monthly rental of €5.99. Or do you want to use your own router?
Kind regards, Maren
