Dear O2 team,

I have a question. Due to corona pandemic, I was not able to find a new job in Germany, and since I was not satisfied with my old one, I left the company to embrace a new challenge in Portugal.

However, my salary is going to be too low to pay an expensive bill such as this of 33 euros per month in Portugal.

Even though I am moving within Europe, is it possible to cancel my contract with O2?

I still do not have my abmeldung, because it is now done online due to corona. Would my new employer’s contract in Portugal work for this?

Which papers should I send to end the contract before?

I was told that I need to send also a letter saying that I want to cancel my contract due to moving to another country, but I do not know how it should look like, could you provide me with an example?

Best,

Ricardo.

Hi @o2_Ines,

Thank you very much for your answer, but there is one of my questions that I still need an answer for, if you could help me. Please, find it below:

As Portugal is part of the European Union, will I be able to cancel my mobile phone contract OR will I have (be obligated) to stick with it? When I say cancel, I know that I will still have to pay another 3 months contract.

I mean, moving abroad should be a reason, also my salary will be way less than in Germany, that is why I need this cancelation.

Thank you again,

Ricardo.
