Hi Team,

I have post paid contract with connect option. Data card and Multicard is activated in smart watches. Other primary card is active in Mobile.

Since I will be travelling to India in coming month, I will be using another Indian sim as second sim for data and calls. Also i would like to avoid any additional charges from my 02 postpaid contract. So my questions are as below.

  1. If I do not activate any roaming packs, there will be no possblity for making calls or receiving calls. Is my understanding correct?
  2. Without activating any roaming packs, still i would be able to receive text messages right?
  3. How do i ensure that calling option and data plan is disabled while i am india?
  4. Is any roaming plans will get activated automatically when I am in India? or if i press data on from 02 sim by mistake?
  5. Especially I dont want my smart watches to get connected to internet even if i pressed the network on when I am in india which should not cause me additioanal charges in my monthly bill..(precondition: I have not activated any roaming packs)

Best Regards,

Suresh

Hey @Suresh Suresh ,
so many great questions :-)
For this Worldzone, I would recommend:

using another Indian sim as second sim for data and call

Make sure to deactivte Mobile Data.
Outgoing calls to Germany and within India cost 2,46EUR/Minute and incoming calls from Germany cost 1,56EUR/ Minute.
So be aware of that.

Hi Matea,

Thank you for the feedback.

If I dont activate any roaming plan, will I be able to use data from my o2 postpaid contract from India?

Best regards,

Suresh

Hey @Suresh Suresh ,
you will be able to use data, But it will cost you a fortune. I still recommend a local sim 🙂
If you still want to use data, make sure that your data use lock for abroad is not active.
Also plaese activate a cost protection before you leave for India.
A cost protection will limit the cost of your data usage, if your usage exceeds the costs (59,90 EUR)

You can activate your cost protection by sending a SMS to this number:  80115
With the words: Kostenschutz EIN

In case you’ll need it. This is a List of our roaming partners in India.
