I would like to port my number from O2 to another provider.
I was on a prepaid plan. When my new provider contacted O2, they refused to port the number. May I know why?

@Akshaya wenn die Prepaid Karte bereits deaktiviert ist, musst du die Portierung zum/nach Vertragsende beauftragen. Wenn du "zu sofort" angefragt hast, dann funktioniert das nicht.
Oder ist die Prepaid SIM noch aktiv?

wenn du die Portierungserklärung per E-Mail/SMS bekommen hast, fragt dein neuer Anbieter zu *sofort* an.

I couldn't actually solve the problem. I still don't know the status of my application. I didn't receive any email or SMS regarding that. How many days does it usually take?

the status of the porting of your number can be seen with your new provider. I could see with your phone number still with us, that it needs to be released by you for your new provider.
You can do this with us via our prepaid hotline 0176 88 85 52 82 or our prepaid chat or via our Kontaktformular.

Thank you for the message. I went to an O2 service centre and they released my number. Then I again contacted the new provider. But they have now sent me an email indicating that ‘Your previous provider has not yet approved the early porting of your phone number’. So I am just confused with this message. Does it take some time to release my number?

I could check the prepaid number with which you are registered, as of today it has not been released. Have tried via our prepaid hotline 0176 88 85 52 82 or our prepaid chat or via our Kontaktformular if you did not succeed via our app?

you number has not been released yet. It is not possible to do this via E-Mail or here by us in the Community.
