I think O2’s should strongly consider joining the 21st century in terms of their cancellation policy procedures. I was just told that I need to mail two separate letters to cancel my internet and phone contract as I’m leaving the country. Do you not think it would be easier and also more environmentally friendly to do this via email?

I am sorry that you were not informed in more detail about your cancellation options.
For a few months now, it has been possible to cancel using an online form. Here you can also submit an extraordinary termination and upload the necessary documents (i.e.deregistration certificate).
Please make sure that you choose “Außerordentlich” and “Umzug ins Ausland”.
