Need port forwarding on my TP-Link router

Hey guys,

I have a SIM card from O2 that is inserted in a TP-Link router, and I'm using it as hotspot internet.

One of my devices is connected to the wi-fi through that router. The device needs a specific port forward in order to work properly (port 44158)

I have set up the port forwarding in the TP-Link router. Nevertheless, seems like there are some restrictions from the O2 side, the port is not opened.

Can someone help on that or had similar experience?

Thanks

Moin,

cngnat has to be turned off.

You have to pay a one time fee of 49,99€.

After that you have to change the APN and you are able to use port forwarding.

Hi schluej,

cngnat = Configuration NAT,  I suppose

Do you have any info how the 49,99 service is called and where do I pay for it ?
And what do you mean by “changing the APN” ?

Thanks

cngnat = Carrier-grade NAT

Write the the 50€ are ok. Then a o2 Mod will activate the official IP for U.

Hi @Your_e

welcome to our English Community.

It is nice that @Joe Doe and @schluej already helped you out with the suggestions.

Now it is my turn to activate the public IPv4-address for you. Before I do that, I still need some personal data from you. Therefore, I wrote you a private message via @o2_Support. Please reply there to my request.

Thanks a lot.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi @Your_e

thanks for your prompt reply at @o2_Support

I have just activated the public IPv4-address for you.

As @Joe Doe already told you, please change the APN to “netpublic”.

You will see the charge of 49,99 € on your next invoice.

Additionally, I have ordered the delivery of the personal identification-code by letter to your contact address. You will therefore receive a letter in the next days.

If you have any further questions, just feel free to contact our English Community.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

I suppose this will do the trick, but just correct me if I’m wrong:

1. disable NAT;
2. use  “netpublic” instead of “internet” (should I leave the other part as it is - “netpublic.eplus.de” ?);

Hi everyone,

Looks like the port forwarding works and it is opened for the dedicated device.

Nevertheless, I will proceed with more testing trough the week and will let you know if I encounter any issues.

Until then, I would say thanks a lot everyone for help and contribution

Best,
Your_e
