Need Help Canceling Contract


Hello,

We are in the process of moving back to the states after 4 1/2 years in Germany.  When we walked into our local O2 store and informed him of our move, he gave us a paper with how to cancel the contract early and sent us on our way.  Unfortunately, he was not helpful at all (although he was more than helpful when we originally signed up years ago).  When we sent the email and attached the required documents (orders and O2 cancellation form), the email was returned saying it was too large to send.  So, I sent another email without the attachments, and this time it said that the email address was no longer in use.

I understand that I will have to pay for 3 months from the termination date, which I am more than willing to do, but I can't reach them to tell them to terminate my contract.  Thankfully, I have found this board and have seen English speaking customers get great help/support.  We are flying out of Germany on the 24th of May.  I have all of the required documents, I just don't know how to send them without a valid email address.

I would appreciate any assistance.  Thank you!

Hi,

unfortunately there is no e-mail-address for cancelling.

You have to write a letter to

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG

Kundenbetreuung

90345 Nürnberg

Put the additional documents into the envelope and send it by registered post.

You can also fax your cancellation and the documents to 01805 571766

If I were in your situation I would prefer sending a letter.

Thank you very much.  I couldn't post to the English forum, so I appreciate you moving it here.  I am going to the German post office in a few minutes to mail the documents for cancellation.  Is there a way to check to see if they receive it or will they send an email/text confirming receipt?

the confirmation of cancellation always takes some time.

But you can ask here in this thread at the beginning of next week and we will check if everything is right and if your cancellation is confirmed! ☺️
