Then why haven't you ordered a DSL, cable or fibre connection?

The o2 Homespot and the o2 Homespot 2 do not support 5G, only LTE. This does not change due to any action taken by the user. 

Then why is the HomeSpot advertised as 5G/ LTE is 5g and the 5g option available my the router network settings?

Due to immigration situation and hold up in paperwork it is what I was told I am eligible for. 

If 5g is not possible it would at least improve the speed/reliability provided by my LTE.

The o2 Homespot is not advertised as 5G-capable.
If 5G settings appear in the router settings, you have probably named the wrong model designation here in the forum. Only the o2 Homespot 5G supports 5G, which is why the device is called that. You can find the model designation of your device on the type label and it is recommended that you give the type designation correctly, because that is what they are there for. 

o2 offers all o2 my Home tariffs (also via DSL/cable/fibre) either with a 24-month minimum contract term or with a 1-month minimum contract term ("Flex"). The customer has the free choice. Why you chose a 24 month Cell service contract contract is beyond me.

Correction - you are right I have the O2 HomeSpot 5G router and plan. My apologies for naming the product incorrectly. This is new to me as there is a much different process in my home country products such as homespot are not widely available. 

Well, I was never clearly made aware of the flex option while signing the contract. But, I understand that the situation is buyer-beware. I am simply trying to make the best of situation that I am currently in.

your Homespot 5G is connected to the base station:

Am Fernsehturm 1, 94036 Passau  (marked with an “A”)

Is your Homespot right next to a window? (indoor, on a windowsill?) Can you put the Homespot, to another position? Perhaps in a window, that points more to the north? (“B”)

(and as you can see on the map: 5G is currently not available in Passau)

@Tom_ thanks! I have tried this and there is been a slight boost in stability but not real change in Signal reception and upload/download speeds. There is no more sudden dropping at the very least. 

It may have to do with the age of my house itself and construction materials. 

Do you know of any compatible antennas or boosters I can use wth Homespot 5G router to boost the LTE reception.
 

I believe a stronger signal reception to by the router will likely improve my internet speeds

As far as I know, the o2 Homespot 5G does not have any connection options for external antennas. So I don't see how you would want to connect an external antenna to the o2 Homespot 5G.

If you suspect the construction and materials of your house, have you tried changing the floor? 
I could check the condtions for changung to an o2 my Home L Flex, o2 my Home M Flex or o2 my Home S Flex ?
