I'm trying to activate my sim card, on the Postident application, I'm getting a message that " we cannot identify you with this ID ", it’s really frustrating.

I regret that you were not able to activate your prepaid-sim-card.

 

You have the possibility to activate your sim-card by post- or video-identification.

 

If this does not work out, please contact one of our shops who offer prepaid-cards. Certainly you will need to order another sim-card in the shop in order to get the card activated. But we will give you a credit on your new card for the price you paid for the card that you were not able to activate. We only need your bill for that.

Regarding video-identification, when I choose it from the website I’m forwarded to the POSTIDENT,  is there an O2 video identification and how can I choose it.

I bought the prepaid card from dm, can I still get refunded in credit when I buy the new sim card?

If you like to use the video-identification, you are also forwarded to the “Post-Ident via video-chat” from the Deutsche Post. Please use this link: https://freischalten.o2.de In order to use this form of identification, you need a webcam and a microphone. You can either choose to download the videochat-app or you can use directly the internet-browser and you are forwarded to a real person from the Deutsche Post that you will see on the screen.

 

But if your identification was not accepted at the post-office, it will also not be accepted via video-chat.

 

Therefore, my suggestion is to look for the next o2 shop in order to activate a new prepaid-card there.
