My O2 contract ended in January 2021, although I haven't  cancelled the contract yet. I am now planning to buy a new phone, is it possible that I get the same phone number with the new phone? Or do I need to change the number for a new phone?

the contract extended itself for another 12 month, since no cancellation arrived.

That gives you a lot of options when it comes to contract extension. We’ll gladly take a look at the possibilities, I you’d like us to.

What kind of cellphone do you have in mind and what are your requirements in terms of included data volume, max price etc?

If the contract hasn't been terminated then it cannot have ended in January 2021. You could extend your contract by another two years and buy a new phone. Your phone number would remain the same.
