Hello,

I and my wife will move back to my home country next month. So, we want to terminate our mobile contracts. We called to O2 for asking such thing. Unfortunately, He can only speak German. I tried my best to communicate with me in German, but cannot fully understand. Our contracts will end in May and December. What I get from the call is

  1. We need to provide de-registration certification and a notification of your new, foreign domicile alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlord.
  2. We need to pay three months fee for cancellation.

My question is:

  1. For the de-registration, the earliest date that we can do registration is 7 days before our leaving. Thus, although we can send the certificate before our leaving, we cannot receive the confirmation letter from o2 because we will not live in Germany at that time. Is it possible to send the confirmation letter by email? If yes, how should do for it?
  2. How should I provide my foreign domicile? And, I will start to search a job after I moving back. Moreover, I will live with my parents. Thus, I have no confirmation of your employer or landlord as well. How should I deal with this document requirement?
  3. If we need to pay three months fee, will o2 directly transfer the money from my bank? And will the fee be transferred at once or it will transfer three times (one time per month)? I also need to terminate my bank account. So, I need to know how to set my termination date of my bank account.

Thank you.

Hi @silasysh ,

thanks for contacting us!

The schedule is indeed a bit short.

You can send in the certification at a later date I’d think, of course, since there is no way to get it earlier.

The other required documents would be nice. But maybe you’d send in a copy of the booked flight ticket with a little explanation (just like the one ypu’ve written here).

The deduction from you bank account will be done in one. If the option of a later deduction is not available (since you’re closing down the account), you’d transfer the money yourself.

Please mention this in your answer letter as well, so my co-workers can set things up accordingly.

I’m sorry, that I can’ give you defintive answers. Our cancellation department is the one that decides how things are handled, that’s why I can only provide basic information and tips.

Best regards,

Kurt
