My son is getting his first phone soon, on his birthday in October. I want to get a Sim and contract that is connected to my contract, and was hoping there is a good deal out there. I heard about partner contracts but am not exactly sure how they work.
I don't want to give him much data, as it will be primarily for telephone contact and used in WiFi. 1gb is more then enough. I want to keep the cost was as low as possible. If it helps save money, I am also eligible to extend my contract, and will happily do that. I will probably give him an old phone I have already, but if there's a cheap Android device that makes sense I will consider it. I am not interested in mid or high end phones.
Thanks for any advice!

If you really want to give him a contract tariff, than take the O2 Free S Partnerkarte with 1GB Fullspeed. After he used the 1GB he can use the Internet 1 MBit. This is enough for Youtube (low quality) , Whatsapp and normal intenet web use. I strongly recomand to make a Drittanbietersperre (Third party lock) that he can´t make any mobile abos and so on. If he make this, it can been cost a lot of money each month.
Hey @bmot ,
nice to have you here in our community.
At the moment there is a campaign that young costumers get a higher discount than normal. Look at the picture from@Joe Doe . So maybe the "o2 Free S" with 1 GB per month is interesting for your son?
You can find our mobilephone-offers here. How much do you want to pay for a mobilephone?
Best regards, Tatjana

Thank you both for the answers. I think pre paid is a good idea, I see the are some tariffs available but they would be separate from my contract. For a phone, no more than around 100 Euros, but if I could extend my contract with o2 and get a phone plus a young person's contract that might also work. I spoke to someone at o2 Support but he kept trying to get me to upgrade my phone to the P30 and give my son my phone. I don't want to do that. Any other ideas are welcome, i fund this whole topic confusing because there are so many possible configurations!
Hi Tatjana, that phone like about right for him, is there a good deal waiting for me?
Hey @bmot ,
I send you an e-mail with an offer. Would you like to check your mails?

Hey @bmot ,
are there any more questions?

Thanks for the answers, and the suggestion, but I'll get a phone elsewhere as that offer costs a total of 140 for a really basic phone, and I think the Moto G7 is better value. To go with it I'll go for a pre paid.
Thanks for your answer @bmot .
have you seen the testreport about the Moto G7@HealingCross wrote?

I haven't, but I've used one. It's really good.
