URGENT: Unsolved Contract Issue


I will try to express my frustration with the contract I entered into with O2 in mid-April. My experience has been far from satisfactory, and I believe it is important to bring these issues to your attention.

Upon my recent move to Germany, obtaining a SIM card became a necessity. Despite presenting my master's certificate as proof, I faced rejection from various O2 shops, as I yet didn’t have the Anmeldung except for the flagship store in Munich on Neuhauser Str. 45. However, the experience there has been far from ideal.

The representative at this store persuaded me to acquire two SIM cards at a cost of €44.5 each and urged me to opt for an "unlimited" package, which, in hindsight, was not suitable for my needs. I was assured that I could make changes to my contract after six months.

However, it has come to my attention that this information was inaccurate. Furthermore, the representative who provided this assurance is no longer with the company, he has been clearly fired, due to such deals. I am now constrained by a contractual limitation that only allows changes within the same level packages, with a minimum cost of €50 and restricted data plans.

My initial intention was to upgrade my phone by adjusting my current tariff and be able to cancel the other sim card, given that I am already paying €44.5. A slight increase in cost would have allowed me to access a more suitable phone and package. Unfortunately, this option is now unavailable due to the misinformation provided earlier.

I request your immediate attention to rectify this situation. It is important for your company to uphold transparency and fulfill the promises made to its customers. I trust that you will address this matter promptly and provide a satisfactory resolution.

 

What can I do at this point to change my contract and do not wait til 2024 Aprıl?

I’m not sure what happened exactely in the shop, but I think the initial idea from the shop employee was to trigger a massive discount on the unlimited tariff by concluding two contracts.

The small one comes with a discount for young people and the unlimited with a 50% discount triggered from the first contract - a discount for a 2nd, 3rd contract etc.. If the unlimited tariff were the only contract it has been more expensive because of the missing discount. Unfortunately it’s not possible to cancel the contract before the 24 month expire, but you can use the small tariff maybe in a tablet for the data usage or someone else can use it. I’m sorry the unlimited tariff didn’t fit your needs. 🙁

Unfortunately, for contracts with a term of 24 months, it is not possible to terminate them before they expire. With your signature you agreed to the terms of the contract.

We would be happy to take a look at what options we have for changing tariffs. Please let us know what exactly needs to be changed and for which contract.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your offer to explore tariff options.

I understand the terms of my contract even though the previous misinformation. Currently, I have an unlimited package with two SIM cards for 45 EUR (Good Deal for those who need it!), but I don't use one of the SIM cards (4GB Package). This plan exceeds my budget, and I prefer paying less to avoid financial strain.

Please suggest a more budget-friendly option that suits my needs. I value your assistance in finding a suitable solution.
