Do I need to have a new router or can i return it after making a new home internet contract

Hi all,

I ordered a Home internet S flex pack before yesterday when I called customer service and extended the contract into Home internet S (without flex). The person from customer who made the order asked me if I have a router and I said yes I have one from my last order. But today I got an email that my router is on the way.

My question is why am I still getting a router? Can I keep the old router and return the new one so to save the activation fee?
Also I’m not sure if my old contract is terminated by renewing it with another pack. Should I contact customer service again to terminate my old contract?

Thank you.

Just to keep you from trouble, revoke anyway! Refuse receiving the new router. And no, your old contract won’t be terminated by ordering a new contract! Always remember the commission…

What kind of technology do you want to use? DSL, Cable, Fibre or LTE/5G?

Moin Moin,

the rent router is always a part of the contract. No you can’t use the “other” router.

And why are you change from flex to non flex?? Any way. If you keep the router from the withdraw contract you will get billed by O2 for the “missing” router.

If you choose DSL you could buy a FRITZ!Box 7520 from eBay.

If you rent a router from O2 for the new contract, than you will get the router after the connection has switched!

Hello @miyako0119, welcome to ou2 o2 community :-)

Depending on the used technology (DSL, cable, mobile) you can keep using the router you are still using. If there’s a change, for example DSL to cable, a new router is needed.

If you already rent e router with your contract and the access technology stays the same but we send you a new router please use the new router and send the “old” router back to us to avoid additional cost.

Regards,
Lars
