Hi, I moved out of Germany on August 12, 2021. There was still time remaining on 2 phone contracts I had. I canceled them with one having an end date of November 30, 2021 and the other July 31, 2022. As I understand, by sending in my abmeldung, I am able to immediately end the countract as of the date of my departure from Germany. I did send my abmeldung and a request to end the contract. But I am still being charged for these phones as of this month (October 2021). Can you please let me know how these charges can end? Thank you!

Thanks for your quick answer! I sent the document about 3 weeks ago. I did not complete that form, but sent a letter from USA where I live with my permanent address noted in the letter. Why should I have to agree to the 3 month basic fee? As I understand by German law, one has the right to cancel all contracts when there is a permanent departure from Germany.
Can you check the number to see if the notification has been received? Should I send them here in this chat? I tried calling but was on hold for 30 minutes and I gave up hope. Thank you!

No, your understanding is incorrect. Broadband contracts can be cancelled by paying 3 months basic fee, for mobile contracts there is no statutory right of early termination at all, but providers generally apply the same rule as a gesture of good will.
