@shamzzz Try the o2 WhatsApp Chat in English for this. Here you must wait up to 7 days for an o2 moderator. Write here please if you have luck.

Best regards
The whatsapp chat does not work. It is an automated system that does not understand a word of english
edit o2_Tobias: moved here because of double-posting
O2 has bad customer service.
- Whatsapp service is useless.
- Online chat is useless too
- Support number customer service is very rude, only for customers with contracts
- I waited 35 min for the customer service to reply on the general number
- I waited 25 minutes on the pre paid customer service line
- The pre paid customer service is ONLY in German. They hung up on me when I spoke in English
- The website has inaccurate information on how to close my contract
- The links on the website do not work
- The O2 shops do not help you to close the contract or give ANY information how to
- My O2 does not have any option to manage your contract, move your number or close the contract
on to top it all out I have to pay 30 euros to close a pre paid contract. This kind of business practice is illegal in many other countries.
I am still trapped on my pre paid contract that was sold to me as “Leave any time!!”
If you have a prepaid card you don't have a contract so you don't need to terminate it. Who told you you need to pay 30 Euros? What practice is supposedly illegal in many other countries?
Exactly what I thought too. There is no need to pay or notify anyone to end a pre paid contract and move my number to another company. That is not the case here.
In many countries:
- Companies must not have misleading and inaccurate information about term and conditions on their website - O2 does
- Companies must have clear exit contract instructions and processes on ALL customer brochures, websites, and any other source of information - O2 does not
- Companies must provide more than one option to terminate a contract - I have not found a single way
With penalties or without penalties as a customer I have the right to walk out of any contract
As an example, if I report a case like this in Australia, O2 will get a heavy penalty and immediate request from the government to address the issues or close business for good
What misleading information are you referring to specifically?
As prepaid cards do not need to be terminated, what information are you missing? There are several ways to terminate a contract, and if course customers have a right to terminate in accordance with their contract terms, but you don't even have a contract, so your concerns don't really make much sense in this context.. Companies in Germany legally only need to provide conditions for terminating a contract in the contract documents, though most also have this information on their websites in FAQs or a knowledge base. o2 is no exception.
A colleague if mine is an Australian lawyer and confirmed what I suspected, and what is also possible in Germany, that the government regulator will look into a consumer complaint and help resolve it. A penalty might be imposed eventually if the company is found to have breached regulations and fails to rectify a problem.
When you get an O2 pre paid number and try to move out to another compay we can have this conversation again.
It is interesting your Australian lawyer answer you so quickly, It is very hard for Australian lawyers to practice in Germany so they do not move here, he would not be in Germany time zone. Australians cannot leave Australia right now, I doubt your friend in here visiting. Australia is waking up right now so I doubt he answer any questions at this time. I am getting a furphy here mate
Unless you can help me move my number to Vodafone, we are done
I didn't say anything about a currently practising lawyer or that they were currently in Australia. Neither is the case. Why would I make it up? Just to refute your polemics? Believe me I have better things to do. I just have an issue with inflated claims to try to prove a point (in this case that doesn't need making). You mentioned Australia, I found your example somewhat implausible, and a quick WhatsApp to a colleague who would know is not unrealistic.
Yes, we are done. I can't help you release your number, but a moderator probably can. You just need to be patient for a few days. Someone will reply here.
As far as I know you are able to use the „Mein O2-App“ to enable the transfer…
Tarif&Optionen → Rufnummernmitnahme → Rufnummer jetzt freigeben
Would be Interesting what an Australian support will do, if I ask something in German???
