I want to extend my mobile contract


Hi,

My mobile phone contract will be ended within few months. I want to extend my contract. My question are:

  1. How much I have to pay after the extension? is it something like old tariff + extended tariff? Or only extended tariff?
  2. How much I have to pay if I do no cancel and do not extend after the end of my current contract?

Please let me know.

Which tariff are you currently using and what are your tariff components? Do you have discounts that are limited to the duration of your contract? Please give us a short feedback.

In general, however, I can answer the following:

If you actively extend your contract and, for example, change tariffs, you will pay your current tariff until the change and only the new tariff after the change. Of course, it is important that you extend the existing contract and do not conclude a new contract (partner card, for example). Of course, one more contract means you pay for two. With a normal extension only the one. Of course, I can't say how much you pay, it all depends on the tariff you would like to have. And whether you might also add a new device or something similar. With a bundle offer (mobile phone + tariff) there are usually good offers with corresponding discounts on the basic fee of the tariff.
If you do not renew and let the contract continue as it is, your discounts, if they were confirmed for a period of 24 months, will no longer apply. This means that you then pay the full basic fee. You can see how long the discounts are active for you on your invoices and in your overview in My o2.

I bought my current contract with a smart phone and for this I am getting a discount. This discount will be discontinued after 24 months contract term, which is after few months.

 

Now If I do not cancel then I’ve pay the full amount (without discount) for my contract after the end of 24 months. Until this I am clear.

 

To avoid paying full amount and avoid canceling my contract, I want to extend my contract. Now my question is, if I extend then should I only pay the extended contract fee after the end of current contract? Or I’ve to pay something more because of extending?

 

Let’s say my current contract full amount = 20 euro monthly, I am getting discount of 10 euro momthly, so I am paying only 10 euro monthly now. After the end of contract I have to pay full 20 euro monthly if I do not cancel. In this point I extend my contract and an extended contract price is 15 euro monthly. My current contract will be ended on December 2022. So, from January 2023 how much I have to pay? 15 euro monthly? or more?

When you renew your contract, with or without a tariff change, you only pay the new agreed tariff amount including discounts. Your previous tariff is changed and you do not pay 2 contracts twice, but pay the new agreed tariff amount after the change of your tariff. 

Do you already know which tariff you would like to have and would you also like a smartphone with it?

Thanks for your quick reply. I would like to extend my contract O2 Grow (40+ GB). It’ll be only the contract extension, no smartphone needed. I just want to keep my current number and monthly 40GB data with me.

Thanks for sending me the offer. But I am not sure about one thing. When this offer will start?

  1. After ending my current contract?
  2. Or if I accept your offer today then it is going to start from today and my previous contract will end?

Also for O2 40B+ Grow tariff, I can see (as screenshot below) after consuming 40GB the speed will be reduced for the rmaining preriod of the month. But as the Grow tariff promises, it’ll add 10 GB every month to my data volume until 240 GB. Let say after 2 months, I’ll have 60 GB total data volume, then when my speed going to be reduced? after 40GB or 60GB?

thanks for your feedback on this.
If you accept the offer, the new rate will be valid immediately. The previous remaining term will then no longer apply.
Correct, with the o2 Grow tariff 10 GB are added every year. But not every month. 
The throttling is in the first year after 40 GB, in the next year after 50 GB and that goes on. So always after consumption of the then current data volume.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping that if I extend now then the extended contract will be started after ending of my current contract. But as it is not happening I am not going to extend now, because now I am paying less than the extended contract. I'll extend my contact when my current contract will be ended.

@o2_Maria: Thanks for yur offer. But it looks like the discount is dependent on another contract. But before that I didn’t know this. I should get the discount as O2 existing customer. So can you change this part and make another offer for me?
