I can no longer receive SMS


Hi,

 

Until August I could receive SMS, specially for the Two-Factor authentication, but since then I can no longer receive SMS. I read that I should do a change regarding the settings on the multicard, but I can’t find where I could do that change.

are we talking about the connected prepaid number?

Can you try sending a SMS to yourself?

You should also be able to set the standard app for SMS according to your wishes (android), could take a look if those settings have been changed?

The last idea is to deactivate LTE to check if the SMS will be transmitted when connected to a different technology (like GSM).

I have an iPhone, where could I check that? Can you provide further instructions on the alternatives you mentioned please. I still can’t receive an SMS when sending from another cellphone.

the examples @o2_Kurt gave unfurtunately only apply to Android devices, iPhones don’t offer as many possibilites as these do regarding the change of message apps and so on.

I assume every other application is running as it should, you are able to transfer data over the mobile network and phone calls are working as they should? You already completely restarted the iPhone?

Do you recieve no SMS at all or does this just apply to one or a limited set of phone number?

I can do phone calls and receive cals without problems, the issue is mainly on the SMS text messages. I can’t receive any SMS text message, except if the message is from O2, like notifications or voice messages. 

Yes I’ve already restarted my cellphone.

do have the opportunity do use your SIM in a different smartphone?
It’d be interesting to know if it works with a different phone. You can sent SMS without problems (except to yourself), is that correct?

I haven’t try using the SIM with a different smartphone, since I don’t have any other device. I do can sent SMS without problems (except to myself).

Hello @dimm91,

if you recieve SMS from us then I assume the reason for you not recieving SMS may be found on the phone you are using. 

Do you have maybe installed a third party app for messaging? Maybe also RCS is activated on your phone and incoming messages are shown separately in another app? 

Another possibility may be that there is some malicious sotware installed on the phone that interferes with recieving SMS.
