Service

Hey everybody

I have subscribed to an O2 Home Spot 24 months plan service for about 14 months. From the beginning, this service was full of problems for me. Very low speed, high ping, repeated disconnection. But I tried to endure and carry on with my work.

But it is impossible for me to continue this situation. In fact, I don't have internet anymore and the signal received by the modem is very weak. I have to restart my modem many times during the day so that it might not work. I have even connected the external antenna to the modem, and it has not changed. Furthermore, I have tried replacing the modem all over the house, but there is still no change. Meanwhile, I live in an important area of the city and right next to the city's university, and this weak signal is very strange to me. O2 does not allow me to cancel the contract and I cannot even change the contract to the cable service. I have really encountered a problem with these conditions of my life and work, which is completely dependent on the Internet. What do you recommend?!

Why should I pay for a service that doesn't work? Is this fair? The picture below is the best signal I receive in the whole house, and the modem is placed to the window with the external antenna.

I hope to understand my terrible situation and show me the way.

The homespot is fix to the Location on the contract. If you change your location U have to inform O2.

Umzugsauftrag in Mein O2.

U can cancel the contract at the end of the runtime  https://info.o2online.de/kuendigung/

When I choose to use the Internet LTE service, As mentioned on the official page, I definitely expect to be able to use this service to move from one place to another.  Before the contract, I checked all the areas where I wanted to use the service and there were no problems.  Your reason is not logical because right now when I apply for the home spot service on the site with my current address, I find that this service is provided perfectly in my place of residence.  Why does my current service not have this feature??!

The HomeSpot is fixt to the Adress on the contract. It is a mobile connection but only for a fix location (landline with mobile connection)!

If you are not on the location of you contract you can’t use the homespot!!!

If you change you home address you have to do an Umzugsantrag.

If you want to change you location, this is the wrong product.

So, You mean if I change my old address to my current address in Mein O2, the signal of LTE will change?? Is it true? If it’s work, I will do that immediately.

Yes I know! Could be done on Mein O2.

Hello @Cronus ,

welcome to our community! 💐

You already received very good help from schluej (thank you very much!)

Did you already ordered the movement of your HomeSpot tariff?

Can I assist you?

Best regards,

Manuela

Hi
Actually, I changed my address 2 days ago and pay the 20 Euro for fee. Also,I received a confirmation email for changing the address. But nothing changed yet with my service. The signal is very poor, and I face the same before problem as well.

@Cronus What Homespot you have? Homespot 1 i think. Can you post please the signal strength from the router?

@Cronus The signal quality is really poor. (RSRP should under -100 dBm) You are connected over Band 3 with this cell. Have you any chance to move the Homespot near to a window so it show to the blue point . (BTS)

Actually, modem placed exactly next to the window with external antenna attached  I tried every corner of my home to get better signal but nothing changed.

I paid 20 Euro just for changing the contract address. The O2 assistant told me your signal will be approved after changing the address, but the situation persist.

Fully disappointed :)

@Cronus Can you put please the Homespot sim in a smartphone and test again the speed. I have fear something is with your Homespot or external antenna.

Hi @Cronus thanks for your posts. Where you able to test the sim card in a smartphone?

Thank you very much for your support Joe Doe

kindly regards
Michael
