Hi,

I am new in this forum. I would like to sign a contract with O2 - preferably in Nov - this is when my current contract with another provider ends. How soon can I sign up for a contract with O2?

Second question; I first registered for myO2 with my preferred email address but it doesn't allow me to register a username for the community. It says to contact a moderator. I decided to register another email. This went through fine and I was able to choose a username for the community - hence my ability to write this message. Can I switch to my preferred email address?

Thanks

Contract starts 21 days after you ordered it. So, if you did not want to pay two contracts wait until 21 days bevor old one ends (if you have cancelled the old one correct.

Thank you.

Thanks @Denner

Hi @obiara ,

if you have further questions feel free to ask us here. :relaxed:

By the way, we have an english community, I moved your thread into it.

Bets regards,

Michi

Thank you, Michi. I think there was a second part to my enquiry, which is clearly marked as "second question". I would be pleased to have a response to that. Thank you.

Hello there!

Switching to a different emailadress is something only we can change (moderators).

You don´t happen to have a screenshot of the message, do you?

We´d need to differentiate between the two systems:

One is the generel o2 Login, you also don´t need to be a customer to set this one up.

It should look like this:

May our database had a little hick-up after creating the account while switching to the o2 Forum Database (?).

Long story short: If you want to switch the email adress, just let us know here!

We´ll then contact you via private message :hugging:

Viele Grüße,

Kurt

Thank you. I have a screenshot. Also I would like to switch to that email address.

Hi @Denner,

I am 30 days away from the end of my old contract. Regarding your response above (with the 21 days allowance), how can I select this in my order online (without the immediate purchase option I'm seeing)? I already have the item in my basket, I would like to checkout in about 10 days' time and have the contract begin somewhere November 12th.

Thanks

Regards

You have to order the immediately way. Than you receive the SIM card a few days later, but NOT activated, so you can activate it at any time. If you didn’t activate, o2 activates the SIM card after 21 days.

So first day to order is 12th November minus 21 days, last day is a week before 12th November because of the shipping process.

But I would do it 14 days before, activate the SIM card a week before the 12. and import your old number from the old contract, before it is deaktivated. So you have a seem less using of your phone number.

@Denner this is very helpful and clear.

One more question; when is the first payment due - I will order both a device and a tariff - (so payment for both) assuming I place my order today? If possible I would like to avoid the situation where two separate amounts are deducted from my account.

Thanks.

Regards.

Hardware and tariff always two bills with two withdrawals.

But o2 charges afterwards.

Thanks.

After when? When is the first payment due assuming I place order today?

3 weeks after activation

hardware 3 weeks after receiving it.

Excellent!
Thanks

Dear @obiara ,

as far as I can see @Denner has already been able to help you. Many thanks for that.
Is your request clarified now?
