Disable anything that may lead to extra charges while travelling

I will be in Mexico until November. I do not want to use my sim with O2 at all. How can I temporarily disable any possible roaming services, including incoming calls? Basically, I want to shut down the sim card, whilst also being able to receive text messages.

Hello @Jorge_Ramirez,

thank you for your enquiry with us.
It is possible to suspend a contract for a certain period of time. However, this requires a recognised reason. Contracts cannot be suspended for a longer holiday.
One of the relevant proofs/reasons must be available:

  •  Certificate of enrolment (university)
  •  Contract of the foreign employer or proof of employment or visa for Work&Travel stays (work abroad)
  •  marching orders (for soldiers)
  •  Medical certificate or certificate from hospital in the case of a stay at a health resort abroad (health)

Does any of this apply to you?

Kind regards
Jessica
