Cannot register a prepaid card - access blocked


Hello,

For two weeks I've been trying to activate a prepaid card with no success, and it seems I'm blocked now. I get "Fehler bei der Identifizierung: Momentan steht leider die Identifizierung nicht zur Verfügung. Versuchen Sie es bitte später erneut.".

I CANNOT edit my name and CANNOT continue with the activation process. Also CANNOT reset the data and start from scratch.

 

Here is what happened:

- I entered my data into the form: first name, last name etc.
- Selected the POST IDENT option
- Went to the post office with my Polish ID card, no success because I did not have my "Anmeldebestaetigung" (it wasn't stated anywhere that I need to bring it!)
- Got an email from o2 saying that my registration was not successful and asking me to try again
- Went to the post office with my Polish ID and "Anmeldebestaetigung" and completed the procedure
- Waited for a week, nothing happened
- Went to an o2 shop in Berlin. They could not help, asked me to go to a post office.
- Tried the VIDEO IDENT, first time it did not work because in the system my last name was the same as my first name. I did not enter it like that, I suspect it got changed during POST IDENT.
- Corrected my name and tried VIDEO IDENT the second time, got disconnected in the middle of the call
- Tried VIDEO IDENT a third time, this time from my office with a very fast Internet (the o2 VIDEO IDENT "internet test" complained about the Internet quality anyway). This time I was told that I did not enter my middle name and I should add it and try again.
- Went to o2.de/freischalten to add my middle name but could not: I entered card & phone number & birthday and got "Fehler bei der Identifizierung: Momentan steht leider die Identifizierung nicht zur Verfügung. Versuchen Sie es bitte später erneut."
- One week later the error did not go away

Have you tried starting the process all over again and ordering a new SIM?

Hello Flo,

Ordering a new SIM would cost me another 9 euro and that step is not included in the official activation process description, to say the least.

But I was able to fix my data by calling the prepaid hotline 017688855282 (trying my best German). I got a new POSTIDENT coupon and everything worked this time.

So, if someone has issues with activation, I suggest calling 017688855282 - from another phone of course. You will need your 4 digit “persönliche Kundenkennzahl”.
