@jdub you must recharge your mobile every 6 months. (0,01 Euro over Bank Transfer is enough for getting 6 months again validity)
If not, your mobile number will shut down. Quickly refill your mobile card, before your number will completely lost.
Hi Joe - thanks. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. I’ve been recharging it every month, as I have a plan and use it every day :)
The issue is that SMS can not be sent. I’ve used other SIM chips in my phone no problem and been able to send SMS as soon as the services have been activated by the providers.
The device is an Apple iPhone X, and I’ve already read as many threads as I could and already come across
- the automated service from o2 that sends you a text with the SMS settings - this sends me a message saying I have the correct settings
- the SMSC issue via Apple which says to contact the carrier
- Resetting the network settings to no progress
Hope this helps and if someone from o2 can get in touch unfortunately I can’t speak German so the support numbers aren’t an option.
Thanks!
the SMS issue is still present
@jdub first your voicemail problem. Dial ##21# (call) Can you now get calls?
@jdub SMS problem. settings/Messages/ Send as SMS is turn on? If already turn on, please turn off. Reboot IPhone. Than turn on again, reboot and try again. Will this work for you?
Voicemail is fixed - thanks Joe
SMS - didn’t work unfortunately I can receive SMS but not send them
@jdub Stupid question. Did you send in international format? +49 179 XXXXX? For test send yourself a sms. Did you have every time reboot your IPhone after change settings?
Hi @jdub,
welcome to our English community.
As I see, @Joe Doe had already some suggestions for you.
Could you already clarify the issue with the sending of text messages?
If not, please do not hesitate to contact us here again.
Loving greetings,
Tobias
Hi @o2_Tobias - thanks for the message.
I did try many of @Joe Doe’s suggestions, but still have a problem with sending SMS from my iPhone XS running iOS 13.5.1. This has not worked since I bought the sim ~6 mo ago… it has had plenty of funding and has been ‘recharged’ frequently.
- I have turned ‘Send as SMS’ off and on, and restarted the phone each time after changing a setting - no improvement
- I have tried turning off iMessage to force the phone to only be able to send via SMS in case there is a conflict - no improvement
- I have reset the phone’s network settings - no improvement
In summary - the phone can receive SMS no problem, but it can not send SMS.
While browsing other threads I read that maybe it could be because when I first signed up for the o2 prepaid service I purchased ‘data-only’, not phone minutes or SMS. Is there a chance there’s something blocking the SMS from being able to send at the account level?
Thank you!
Hello @jdub ,
since the USSD-Codes won´t work anymore, please try inserting the card into another phone (not apple) and try to change the SMSc there.
After that, put it back in and try it again with your iPhone.
Does it work now?
Viele Grüße,
Kurt
