Activate second sim/number in my account for my kid

I have a O2 sim/number , I am O2 client for a year now, my question is:

-How do I activate a second prepayd sim/number  in my account for my kid to use ?

What are the precise steps to make ?

Can I make it online from my account ?

Welcome to our o2 Community. You can order an o2 preapid simcard via o2 Freikarte for 0 Euros.

But to be clear, o2 postpaid and o2 prepaid won’t run on the same account, thats technically not possible,

so you won’t see the number or contract details when logging in with your postpaid number, you have to create a new account

using the prepaidnumber after activation.

I asked if I could have 2 prepay numbers on my account, one that I previously had and the new one for my kid. So they are both prepaid.

The thing is that I've try to activate second sim with post office and it's giving me an error.

My question is: how do I activate the second number?

sorry that we misunderstood you. 

In order to activate your second prepaid-card, you need to verify it either by post-ident or video-ident.

Unfortunately the second try with the post office failed, is giving me the same error, and I don't understand why.

I did all the steps right like in the description on O2 site, but after going at the post office is giving the same error.

What to do? Please let me know!

I regret that the verification failed. 

What kind of ID-card do you use?

Please note that our post-offices do not accept all ID-cards, especially if it is an ID-card from a foreign country.

I made a little translation for you: 

 

POSTIDENT through post office

Valid German identity cards, foreign official identity cards corresponding to the German identity card and passports are considered to be permitted identity documents, provided these documents contain a photo of the holder and are accepted by Deutsche Post for identification. Please understand that due to the requirements for security features of the documents, not all available ID documents can be supported. If private customers have any questions about the procedure for identification with unsupported ID documents, the private customer will be referred to the client.

The information on the mandatory fields provided on the POSTIDENT form must be available on a permissible identification document and must be legible (i.e. at least in Latin letters and Arabic numerals) and decipherable for the agents of Deutsche Post.

If, in exceptional cases, details of the address are missing in identification documents, this will be requested from the person to be identified by the agent of Deutsche Post during identification in the post office.

 

Did you already try video-ident instead?

I used the same ID when I activated my first o2 prepaid.

I mean if it worked then it should work the same way now.

The video ident I can't use it because I don't have a passport and my ID is not recognized by O2.

Hello @radu80,

I am sorry to hear that there are issues whil activating your new prepaid contract.

Could you tell us what error exactly occurs or what happened as you tried to activate your second contract? Maybe with this information we will be able to give further advice.

Or was maybe everything already solved and you were able to activate it meanwhile? :-)

It give me the error : problem bei der identitats prufung!

And no , no luck with the activation!

Thank you for the infornmation, @radu80.

You will find a list of different documents that can be used for the verification process (PDF), I assume you are using one of these documents?

The data in the prepaid contract is running under your name, there are no middle names left out in eitehr the contract or the documents? Maybe a typo somewhere or a mismatch in the date of birth?
