inovice

I haven't used any item from Telefonica but still I got a inovice from my bank of 598.61 euros. Bank told me that court has informed to block my bank account because I haven't paid the bill. But for what ? I haven't ordered anything from O2 or telefonica but still I have to pay the bill?

Hello @Kabariya,

welcome to the o2 Community. Nice that you have found your way to us, even if the reason is
not a nice one.

Have you received a reminder even though you don't have a contract or a mobile phone from us?
Did you have a contract (mobile phone or DSL) with us in the past?

Best regards
Daniela

No, that’s the point here. I don’t had any reminders about it. I don’t have any contract with o2 but still my bank account is blocked and only will open when i will pay 598,61 euros.

If i had a reminder or a letter stating that this is your bill and you have to pay it otherwise we will block your bank account then i would have reached out the day i have got the letter or any reminder. But i haven’t got anything from your side or from Telefonica.

@Kabariya  So you never had a contract with us?
That's really strange. We cannot view payment declarations or questions here. In this case, please contact the relevant department for clarification. The colleagues will then check this and discuss everything.

Best regards
Daniela

The blocking of your bank account was probably initiated by a debt collection agency. Sometimes people with the same or similar names get mixed up. However, someone could also have misused your data to place orders. Contact the debt collection agency, deny any business relationship with o2 and ask them to send you proof of the contract and the existing court order.

It will probably be necessary to contact a lawyer. If you defend against an unjustified claim, the debt collection company will have to bear the costs.

@Klaus_VoIP Debt collection agencies cannot instruct banks to freeze accounts. That requires a court order and it would usually be preceded by an unchallenged Mahnbescheid. Yes, names can get mixed up, but that in itself is not sufficient so it does indeed look like a case of identity theft. Correct name, date of birth and account details but incorrect address.

The bank can inform the customer which court issued the third party debt and on whose request in order that they can clear this up quickly.

Yes, bs0 is of course right in detail!

I was primarily concerned with the advice to consult a lawyer as a non-native speaker, as otherwise you can easily lose out due to formal errors.
