Activate connection before activation date possible?

Hi, I have contracted Cable with o2, the technician was at my place 2 days ago and he said that connection is already active and I have also received the router today. 

I contacted english customer services and they said activation date is on the 4th of July but if I have received everything it should be possible to activate the line before, he said it is just a matter of giving them the mac address. 

Problem is that technical customer service only speak German and I dont and I do not have anybody who can speak for me. I just want to give my router mac address so I can start using internet.

you would create a rift in the space-time continuum and we would all be drawn into a parallel universe.
