As my deadline for prolonging my contract is fast approaching, I am looking at other plans but since my German is not the best, I can't seem to find answers on my own.
My questions are if I order a new plan, does it begin right away or after my current contract is over (in about 3 months). And do I need to pay two separate monthly payments?
Also do I keep my current phone number?

first of all, welcome to our forum. Nice that you have found the way to us. :-)
If you want to extend your current contract, then the contract renewal would start immediately and the tariff change to the new tariff would be carried out to the next day.
The contract would then apply again for 24 months and the remaining three months from the old contract would be dropped. Does that help you?
