Hi all,

Took out an o2 LTE Home M connection two weeks ago, mainly because my weekend house is in the middle of nowhere and there is a mobile mast literally 200 meters behind me.

First complaint - The site o2 site survey when you are ordering stated “up to 50 mbit”for my location but what I am experiencing is between 0.97mbit and 1.67mbit which is useless, cannot stream anything without it pausing every 2 minutes or so after pre-loading.  I bought exactly the same model of LTE Fritzbox! Router that is offered with the package and there is no Wifi interference on any channels.

I must also state that I’m an IT Professional since 1998 and I know how to set up a WiFi router and multiple site-to-site VPNs using mixtures of fibre, DSL, Leased Line and LTE, plus 3G back in the day.  An outside mast from the router will not sort this speed issue.

I loaded up the o2 SIM in my phone and walked up to mobile mast … Did a speed test (speedtest.net … Frankfurt server chosen for routing) … 1.69mbit LTE 2 bars (TBH I would have settled with 20-30mbit and not be here in this forum) …

Then I fired up the LTE FritzBox! with my Deutsche Telekom SIM (they own the backbone grid and lease out bandwidth to other companies on their mobile masts) and straight off the bat … 20mbit in my house (I had the router on the first floor at this point), then moved up a floor and then 30mbit …

Contacted support to cancel this contract, took 37 minutes for the whole call and then I have to send proof, when they could already just look at the SIM data, what site where and when and what speed …

But hey, there’s no way I’m paying that amount of money a month for a 1-1.69mbit connection ever …

See what happens …

Have a pleasant evening all and now I know, before settling on an LTE provider, get all your friends over that have different providers and check it out thoroughly!!!

Hi @PossiblyInfected ,

can you tell us more about the adress?

Have you looked up your adress in our Störungscheck, yet?

There is no contract associated with with your account, which is why I can’t check the adress and the status of your contract.

Viele Grüße,
Kurt
