öffentliche IPv4 Andresse  (public IPv4 address ) for  "o2 HomeSpot"

Public IP freischalten, (Unlock public IP )
Critical information: First you need to post here in the community or contact O2 customer service directly to set up your öffentliche IPv4 Andresse (public IPv4 address)
There is a one-off payment for your public IPv4 address.
Next you need to make a small change in your router settings.

How to make the changed on the HomeSpot Router
Change the APN from “internet” to “netpublic”.

You´ll find this option in the menu:
First, you go to the "Connectivity" tab in the router settings.
In the next tab, you then select "Mobile Settings".
There you will find a point called "APN Settings". This is set to "Auto" by default. You now set this to "Manual”.
The first line already says the name "internet”, you change it to the name "NETPUBLIC"
You can theoretically leave the remaining fields such as username & password blank and leave IP type on "IPv4 & IPv6" and confirm at the end.

@Maz69 If you change to dynamic did you have Internet again? (without public ipv4)

@Maz69 What TP Link Archer MR600 Hardware Version you use? What firmware? Is this the EU Hardware version? Have you restart the router, after you try with static/app netpublic? Sorry for all the questions.

Benutzerebene 1

This is the device's info. I bought it hier in cologne, so I am sure it have a EU version.

By the way it worked for a while then stopped

@Maz69 Latest firmware. I run out of options. With the profile Eplus you have Internet, but no public IPv4.

Last try.  Did you do a factory reset of the TP Link router after a firmware update?

If Not, do it please.

Benutzerebene 1

Uraaaaa, it is working but the port still closed

This was the best configuration

In relation to public ipv4 I have 2 confirmations from o2 supporters that I  have an aktiv one

@Maz69 46.xxx.xxx.xxx is public IPv4 at o2. Can you modify your screenshot and hide the numbers after 46. please.

@Maz69 Have you forwarded the port 44158 in the TP Link router? Only then is the port shown as open at port checker.

@Maz69 Try Port Triggering. You will get then open Port if you run Port checker.

I did it.  Have I to restart router? Because it is still closed

Hi @Maz69

As I see you already got detailed suggestions from @Joe Doe during the weekend. Thanks a lot for that.

Did you already manage to get the internet to work with the public IPv4-address?

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Benutzerebene 1

Hi, with help of  @Joe Doe  everything is working out . Thanks

So I want to get public Ipv4 .

Hi @Maz69

oh, congratulations! That sounds great. :hugging:

Thanks a lot also to @Joe Doe for his help in this matter.

If your internet is working now with “netpublic”, you are already using the public IPv4.

By the way, I see still that you sent an e-mail to withdraw from the public IPv4-adress. Can I destroy this e-mail now?

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi,

I changed my router from a fritzbox to Netgear Nighthawk M5.

With the M5 public dynamic IPv4-Adress is not working any longer.

There are only a few parameters I can change:

APN Name: O2 Germany

APN: NETPUBLIC

PDP: IPV4

PDP Roaming: IPV4

Authentication: PAP

Username and Password is empty.

With the  fritzbox it was working fine. I am in Italy, Net is WindTre or TIM.

Roaming data is activated, with standard APN the router works fine.

Benutzerebene 1

Ah, sorry , I found the reason.

My mistake! I used the second card of my multicard contract. But the public dynamic IPv4-Adress is working only with one of the cards. 😁
