Could you please release my number for portability to another provider. I have a pre-paid plan.

Did you not receive a confirmation by SMS concerning the release of your number?

Please make sure that you have topped up enough credit on your card. Otherwise the porting will not take place. 

The porting will be charged as soon as we get a porting order from your new provider.

No, I didn’t receive a confirmation per SMS. 

 

I have enough credit topped up, and still today my provider informed that o2 didn’t release my number because ‘the portability costs were not paid’ by me. Could you check please?

thanks for your reply. 

When did you tell the new provider to port your number. 

If you have done this before the 26th October, you had not enough credit as we charged 0,99 € per day for the mobile internet-usage. 

Just try now again to order the porting with your new provider. 

If you like, I also can block the number for internet-connections.

according to your wish, I have blocked your prepaid-card for mobile internet usage. 

Your card is also released for porting. 

So, there should be no hindrances anymore for the porting to another provider.

Hello,  

I have an active plan for 9.99 euros (3.5 GB).  I've just done Number portability from O2 to a different provider and I was wondering what will happen next.

  • Will my account be closed permanently at O2 after the transfer of my number is complete and no further payments will be charged?
  • Do I need to manually unsubscribe from my current plan during number portability?
  • and where I have to send the “Prepaid – Guthabenauszahlung” form? Can I send it by email?

thank you for your question in our o2 Community! :blue_heart:

Your prepaid card will still be valid. After the number has been ported, you can continue to use it with another o2 number.
You do not have to actively cancel the prepaid card. If you request a credit payment and this has taken place, the card will be switched off afterwards. You must send the payout letter by post to the address stated on the letter.
Please note: A payout can take 6-8 weeks and is only made to the account of the cardholder of the prepaid card.
